Leah's sister, Charlie, was already gone so it was the three of them that were still sitting there.
"So am I going back to that cell, or do I get an actual room tonight?" The Rebel asked turning back to the other two.
"I'll be staying with me tonight actually." The knight said.
"Right, quick question why would the princess feel the need to warn me about you?" The three stood up and walked out of the dinning hall.
"Just to scare you probably." The princess seemed to be very interested with the wall standing on the other side of the knight from the rebel.
"Is that so?" They said pointedly leaning around the knight to look at her.
"It was just a joke, that and you will have to sleep in the side room. It's a little small but your mom already moved you in. I guess because it's going to be temporary."
"That's the one thing she got right these past few days." The Rebel said before the princess shushed them. The three moved down the hall before locking themselves into the knights room.
"Now, we have to write this letter. My father is planning on moving in two days time anyways. This is a kindness that you can give your girlfriend." The princess placed the letter down on the writing desk that was across the room from the door.
"Oh yeah, I'm only going to declare war on my boyfriend. What a great wedding gift from me." The Rebel was starting to panic when the full force of the truth.
"I would say it's a great gift. A lot better then us showing up at your door with half of the army." The princess said crossing her arms.
"It will also prove that you aren't trying to get back to help him. You need to start playing your cards right or we are all going to pay. I don't exactly want to marry you sorry."
"That's fine with me." The Rebel walked across the room to the princess.
"Do you know if this will be checked by anyone other then you?"
"My dad might check it over to make sure you haven't missed anything, but I don't think your mother will look. You have a code you can slip in?" The Rebel sat down at the desk. They grimaced as they looked over what they had to write.
"I think I can. Might take him a bit to get it but I'm sure he will be able to see it. I hope he knows I would never say any of this." The Rebel started writing out the letter correcting the words as needed. They would mix in a upper case letter in with the lower case to spell things out.
Thankfully you couldn't tell the difference unless you know their writing. The Rebel really didn't know how much the Prince knew of their messy handwriting so this could all go over his head. At least he would still be given a heads up about the invasion stop them before they could get to the city.
The Rebel showed it to the princess to check over to make sure nothing major was out of place. The name change would be understandable given how close the two were before the move. It could be forgiven if pressed about it.
"So is that it. We only have to play the waiting game till we move out. Is there really no I can get out of here any sooner?" The Rebel asked at the princess put the letter into an envelope. It would be stamped with the royal seal before being sent out tomorrow.
"Not unless you want it to be killed on site. Your mother is not playing around with any of this." She walked over leaving the envelope on the table before walking over to the door.
"Take tomorrow to gather everything you are going to need for the long trip. Also prepare yourself for making a quick decision. Blood shed will not be avoided, and they will force your hand if they have to. You need to be ready to make any hard choice that comes up." She opened the door before kissing the Knight goodbye then leaving for her own room.
"You're the one she is gone for?" The Rebel asked surprised, and the door was closed and locked for the night.
"Yep, got really lucky I did. We started seeing each other when Abigail was here. Since she married into a neighboring kingdom not to long ago. We didn't have to worry about her taking the throne even if there was always they possibility."
"Why not just give up the throne to her younger sister?" The Rebel stood from the desk moving around to stand against the other side of it.
"Charlie doesn't really care when happens with the kingdom. At least Leah has a vision for how she would like things to be run."
"Fair enough. And you two aren't going to stop me in any way?"
"Why would we, Leah wants to create peace. Putting you back where you belong is a great first step towards that."
"Yeah, guess I can see that. She would have to talk to Rigel, he handles all the paperwork type stuff." The Rebel huffs out a laugh as the knight smiles at the thought of the two royals. Maybe having a tense teatime as the spouses sit beside them trying to stay out of it. "We should get some sleep; it sounds like an early morning to a long couple of days."
"Sounds like the sane thing to do. I'm going to be up a little more if you can't sleep." The Rebel nodded as they walked into the small room off of the main room. They closed the door taking a quick look around. There was a small desk sitting against the wall near bed that doubled as a nightstand.
The Rebel walked over to the wardrobe that was standing to find their clothes all hanging up. It would seem the Rebel Leader took almost half of the of their clothing when they moved into the princes room. They changed into clean bed clothes settling in for the night. The room was small, definitely a personal servant room.
Without the Prince it felt cold and a lot bigger then it should. As the Rebel tried to get comfortable there was a slight ache they couldn't place. It got worse the more ways they thought this could go wrong. The worst it could get was they both ended up dead. That wasn't anything new since they had been thinking that since the day before the attack.
