Adam POV


I knew Ron had suspicions about the newly acquired pack members, he felt I needed to know, so we made a private meeting in my office about it and who specifically he suspected. I had made a part of their condition if they had to have no contact with their old pack for 6 months & then we would go from there. All of them must train & if they are a certain age then they must have an escort from the pack. I don't want them to leave the pack & then be ambushed by members of their old pack. I want them to be kept in cells for three months, they can come out during the day, but at night that's where they sleep. I know this sounds cruel but I can't risk their safety & ours. 


The cells are also connected to the underground bunker & there are cameras hidden throughout the whole structure so we can see them & keep everyone safe. This is going to be a rough three months, all the families that show us trust will be released as soon as possible to go into their new homes as they are set up for them one by one. I was already able to release a young teen who had been kicked out & made a rogue because she got pregnant & her mate rejected her. I will not tolerate that, the father is unwelcomed on my property and has already lost his rights to his daughter because of his actions. She had no choice but to become a rogue because her parents gave her the ultimatum to get rid of the baby or be rogue. Athena took her under her wing & Angelica became her friend.


Athena spent her days with Lyra around Angelica hoping to be as much help as they could be. Angelica's family were Alphas of another pack, but I wasn't sure how that would work here since I was Alpha & Athena was Luna. However Angelica seemed to accept her life here & her little girl loved to play with Lyra. I hoped they would become best friends. My beta Joe had lost his mate & pup during a rogue attack. She ended up dying several hours later from too much blood loss & his pup was not even half way through the pregnancy mark. Joe spent hours with her he found out that she had turned 17 about six and a half months ago & was due to shift in the next six months to a year.


Joe took her and her daughter in and fell head over heels for her, and her little girl named Milha. Athena, Joe & I decided to throw her a small late birthday party with just us so she could get to know us. Turns out she has been on her own since she was 16 and a half. She already knew who her mate was, and that was not common to know your mate at such an early age, especially since she was an alpha. He was able to reject her once he found out she was pregnant. It nearly took her life and almost killed the baby from what I understand.


Joe was a good man & she smiled when he played with her daughter Milha. Angelica was going to be 18 in six months to a year. She refused to tell us when her birthday was so that's why we estimated 6 months to a year based on what the doctor told us. I knew just what to do for her birthday & Joe knew what to do. He gave me a list of things she loved & Athena planned to take her shopping while Joe & I watched the girls & let them play together. Angelica was very uneasy about this, but as time passed & we sorted things out for the newly joined pack members & Angelica grew more comfortable.


One night I came in & Angelica & Athena were talking while the girls were asleep in the bassinet crib in the living room. They both looked so tired, heck I knew Joe & I were. Both seemed excited to see Joe & I when we walked into the door. Joe gently picked up Milha and took Angelica & her home. I gently got Lyra & carried her to her room laying her down. Alpha Ron decided between everyone that we had here it would be safe enough to go back to his own house.


He messaged me & said he would come see Lyra tomorrow after her nap especially since we had meetings all morning to figure out more protection details. It had been well over a month & some of the people we took in that were rogues died saving a lot of the original pack members. Since Angelica & Joe were together as chosen mates I had her in the Bunker every time with Athena & Lyra. I didn't want Joe to lose his adopted daughter & chosen mate & be heartbroken again. When Joe lost his mate at 18 it nearly killed him. Even though Angelica & Joe were not mated yet, I didn't want him to be unhappy again. 


This was the first time in a long time he & his wolf Kody were really happy. I loved to see him smile and see that he was happy. Surprisingly they turned out to be second chance mates with each other and that rarely happens for anyone. When I looked into how often it happens, there are about 600,000 werewolves in the United States and it happens with only 1 out of every 500,070 werewolves. I am so happy he found her, and they had her little girl Milha. They loved to be together, and Joe loved watching Milha play with Lyra, matter a fact Joe my Beta was Lyra's God father and she loved him. 


He always made her giggle, and we all loved her little laugh. Especially when she would get Milha going. She was so cute when she would laugh with other babies. We could never get the kids to stop laughing. Matter a fact when we did tummy time we made sure Milha and Lyra were together because they did so much better when they were around each other. Milha was already about one year old, but they loved to play together and we loved it because without Milha we would not have gotten Lyra to start crawling as soon as she did.


Athena POV


It has been over a month now & I have made many friends in this pack of Adam's. I got so lucky to be his mate. Time passed so quickly I almost forgot our year anniversary. Joe met someone from the rouges who became a part of our pack. Her name is Angelica and she had a little girl named Milha. Adam didn't make her stay in the jail cells, because she had a little girl and we were able to see and know she was telling the truth.


The only reason we know this is because Beta Joe told us the moon goddess said she was his second chance mate. We spent a lot of time together & found out her parents disowned her when Her made rejected her because she was pregnant with his baby. We all knew that was not Angelica's fault what happened. She told her dad who her mate was and that he rejected her, but he still didn't care or want to listen. I promised that would never happen with Lyra, and Adam even agreed. I was sad yet glad I met Angelica and Milha because she loved to play with Lyra.


I loved watching the two little girls play, they loved crawling around and Lyra tried to work on standing. Lyra was not even 4 and a half months old. The closer Angelica & I got the more I liked her. Yeah she was about 2 years younger than me, but I loved having her around. I found out that while she was out in the wilderness her birthday had passed so we threw a late celebration for her & Joe, Adam, & I began to come up with her next birthday party with the boys help. Joe got a list of things she loved together & I planned to take her shopping while the boys watched the girls. 


For our safety my dad and Adam said we would have two escorts with us at all times just as a safety precaution. However, since my grandfather was now here my dad, grandfather, and Adam decided to adjust it to 4 escorts and two of them would be Lycans. I decided that we would go one month before the party so we would have time to find her an outfit & shoes that she would love. I needed a week to myself to get some things done with Lyra, & I felt the more I was doing the more I was being watched. When I was giving Lyra a bath this morning I heard growling outside her bathroom door. It made me feel uneasy so I mind-linked Adam & told him. He had his gamma check things around the house & found nothing. 


My grandfather who just so happens to be a Lycan King is still around, in one of the guest cabins. The more I did the more intense the feeling of being watched was. I wasn't sure what was happening but I knew it wasn't good at all. Just as Lyra & I were on the way back to the house I overheard a conversation between some of the newly added members of the pack. They specifically wanted to take down the pack while we were still vulnerable. What they didn't know was we were no longer vulnerable with the Lycan king here. I tried to pass them quickly, but they saw me, & I just knew something bad was to come. 


I had no choice but to run. I dropped all the groceries & held on to Lyra tightly as I ran. I began yelling HELP... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.... I saw something big & black rush past me as tears streamed down my face. I had no escorts for some reason, and I had been on high alert the whole time I was out. I felt like someone had been following me the whole time. My face planted into someones chest, & his chest was hard.

I began to freak out once I looked up realizing it was Adam. I broke down full of joy & Joe was behind him. Angelica was standing next to Joe holding Milha as close as she could. We both ran with Joe right behind us to the house holding the babies. We made it to the house & locked the doors. We made our way to the hidden underground shelter that many who couldn't fight were able to be. 


I could hear the rogues coming through the bunker. Something was very wrong. I handed Lyra to one of the girls who was a teacher. I looked at Angelica... I have to go I have to fight. We won't live through this war if I don't. Some of the Lycans have been hurt or worse. 


I can't hide anymore... Angelica please help look after Lyra & remind her that mommy loves her so much. I watched as she smiled & Joe & I ran out with one of the others quickly locking the door behind us. As I reached a spot a rogue jumped out nipping at me. I however had an upper hand, & caught the wolf by the throat. I ripped out a piece of its spinal cord & it shifted back to a woman. I knew her, she looked very familiar to me, but I couldn't place her. 


I mind-linked Adam & my dad. Something is very wrong here guys I don't know what but you guys need to come see this now. Another rogue jumped out of the forest from behind me & bit me on the arm. Change I said harshly. Nothing came of it. My grandfather came running towards me & shifted back to human form. 


"My granddaughter told you to shift, so shift or die. He said in a much harsher tone. You just bit an extended princess. " Shouted my grandfather in frustration. We watched as she shifted & I didn't recognize her. She was in so much pain from shifting so quickly. My Grandfather grabbed her & fought his way through the crowd of wolves coming towards me. 


Leaving a trail behind him I followed him. I knew I was going to have to finally transform into my wolf. For the first time I changed without hurting & it felt good. At the same time I was a little freaked out because all I saw was a huge burst of light. All the pack members had ducked seeing this blast & all the others were knocked down. All the rogues got knocked down & I felt my body slam into a tree behind me. 


When I woke up I was in bed and it had been 3 days since the fight. My dad was sitting next to my bed in a chair holding my hand. Everything was fuzzy and I couldn't remember anything that happened. My head felt like it was going to blow up, & my nose was bleeding. Thank god Adam just walked in, when he saw how bad my nose was bleeding he rushed to the bathroom & grabbed a towel for me. I held the towel against my nose and my dad of course was waking up when he heard Adam run to the bathroom. 


Adam carried me out of the bedroom, running to the truck with me leaned forward as I got into the truck instead of us having to walk all the way to the doctor. It was a guy this time & I wasn't too comfortable with that. Adam stayed with me and that helped especially since at the same time just to find out if I was in good health was all that mattered. Thank the Moon Goddess I was ok. The doctor had just come back in and told us the news and it was as a result to a power that exploded from me. The last thing I remember was some rogue wolves got back up to attack my grandfather and I just lost it and that was the last thing I remembered.
