Everyone who saw Luther’s video was shocked and speechless. However, it did get people talking, and many content creators made videos discussing what they saw. Some even referenced JD’s videos.

“That was the guy I’ve been dreaming about since I was a kid,” Ayvah said in a disheartened tone. She was traumatized by what she had just seen.

“We’ve had more than our fair share of run-ins with him. He was very complex, and I honestly feel sorry for him. He never stood a chance in this world,” Lynn said as she hugged Ayvah. “Come on, kiddo, let's go check on your dad.

They arrived at the hospital to check on JD. He was still alive by the doctor’s readings but also still in a coma.

Lynn sat beside his bed and placed her arm on him, almost hoping he’d get up at the feel of her touch. She tried to keep her composure and not cry, hanging onto the fact that he was not pronounced dead.

She looked up at the TV and saw a breaking news report.

She scrambled to find the remote. Ayvah looked as well. Ayvah found it in a drawer next to JD’s bed. She cut up the television.

“Who’s that?” Ayvah asked.

“Trovo. He’s the Speaker of the House. I’m guessing he is acting President right now,” Lynn answered.

Trovo stood in front of what was left of the White House and spoke in front of the camera.

“This past week has been one of great tragedy and triumph. We lost a beloved President to a virus that is rapidly spreading throughout our country, and no one is talking about it. More and more of us are dying each day, but I assure you that we have the best men and women working to find a cure to put an end to this virus that they are dubbing the Rubix. We ask that you please protect yourselves, wear a mask, and keep your hands clean. As you can see, behind me is what remains of the White House, a structure that not only housed all of the great men who proudly ran this country but has also been a staple of American history. That history was taken from us by our very own terrorists.

“A man by the name of Luther committed cowardly acts of violence that took the lives of our Vice President turned President, Mr. Wyatt, and the former first lady and her family. In true coward’s fashion, Luther took his own life. Now that we are rid of that maniac, we can rebuild and be better than ever. I promise that as acting President, I will carry on the legacy of these great men and do what is best for all of our people. God bless you, and God bless America. Thank you,” Trovo ended his speech, and the broadcast returned to its regular programming.

“Do you believe him, mama?” Ayvah asked Lynn.

“No. Hell no. I don’t believe anything these crooks say. They’ll say anything to save their asses,” Lynn said.

A nurse urgently entered the room. “Hey, I’m sorry. We’re going to have to ask you to evacuate. We are moving Jerry to a safer room,” the nurse said.

“Why? What’s going on?” Lynn asked.

“The cases of Rubix patients are growing and are pretty bad right now. We do not want you or any other visitors exposed to it. This thing kills, and it kills fast. We will move Jerry to a safer floor with no Rubix patients, and he’ll be more secluded and safer,” the nurse explained.

“When will we be able to come back and see him?” Lynn asked.

“We will let you know when this situation is under control. We have your contact info. We’ll call you and keep you updated,” the nurse said.

“Damn it. Ok, thank you,” Lynn said. She took one last look at JD. She fought back tears.

Internet content creators began to make their voices heard about the recent events.

Trovo and the other government officials sat and watched some of the videos being created.

“The people are getting wiser. We can’t fool our citizens anymore, and quite frankly, why should we? Aren’t we tired of keeping this up? Why does it have to continually be us vs them when they want to live and be left alone?” A congressman asked.

“Our citizens are some of the dumbest people to walk the earth. Simple. No further explanation is needed other than that,” another said.

“So we continue to annihilate them? How much longer will this continue until there is no one? What are we even doing anymore?” The first congressman chimed back.

Trovo stood up and paced for a second.

“That meeting in 1994 changed everything. Then, the one a few years back changed things even more. The world leaders believe the world will run out of resources, so a lot must reduce the human population. But see, there is a significant difference between the first meeting in Cairo and the recent one in Dubai. The meeting in Cairo wanted more for the world, but the leaders at the time felt like they couldn’t give it. Their thinking was to get rid of people subtly. That slowly grew into a more demonic and cold-hearted plan. They want totalitarianism—a one-world government. One government that rules over all. I don’t want that. It will just cause more issues among leaders and citizens. But I will give it to you straight. The US needs money. We owe trillions, and we have been wasteful. This country’s economy needs a reset. We have no choice,” Trovo explained.

“Do you believe the problems we face are fixable?” A third congressman asked.

“No. No, I do not. But we’ve made it this far. We will forever be in debt to places like China, Japan, Ireland, etcetera. But as long as the partnerships are in place and we continue to work together, we should be fine...maybe,” Trovo said.

“So, now what?” The second congressman asked,

“Now, I fix our relationships abroad. Then we will deal with our issues here,” Trovo said.

“So, now what?” The second congressman asked,

Lynn and Ayvah got home and went to their rooms.

Lynn began to pray.

The Rubix had spread now to 40 states and killed ten people every five minutes. That number would eventually grow to fifteen.

The CDC advised no one to go outside. Trovo ordered a mandatory lockdown nationally.

This news led to everyone rushing to stores for food and supplies for their families. Although the US was the only country affected by the Rubix, there were still shortages due to no one being able to work. This led to many civil fights and killings over the food and supplies at the stores. Like the cell tower issue, employees and management left the stores unattended out of fear for their lives. Stores were broken into and looted around the country.

Soon, the Rubix would consume all fifty states. The country was on complete lockdown, and people could not leave.

As tensions grew, so did the murders. Citizens would break into others’ homes to rob and kill them. Trovo hated to see the country in this state, but he felt it's needed.

“Hit the button. We are in full martial law. Tell every city’s governor to have all hands on deck. Every police officer and military personnel you have must patrol the neighborhoods and streets. No one leaves their house and if they do, their asses will be shot on sight. If they come outside for any reason, they are to be shot!” Trovo said.

The sirens were sounded around the nation. It was the scariest sound anyone had ever heard.
