Zhao Liqing, oblivious to Xiao Churan’s increasingly frosty expression, proudly pulled the man next to her closer and announced, “Let me introduce my husband, Zheng Hao!”
She then boasted, “He’s the eldest son of the Zheng family in Jinling and the heir to their multimillion-dollar fortune!”
Xiao Churan nodded politely, while Ye Chen’s expression turned dark.
He had come to celebrate his wedding anniversary with his wife, only for this obnoxious pair to suddenly appear and ruin the mood.
Zhao Liqing continued to flaunt her connections, saying, “Oh, by the way, my husband is a platinum member here at the Shangri-La. That comes with a lot of privileges. I’m guessing Ye Chen probably just booked a regular room, right? How about I have him upgrade you to a luxury suite?”
Xiao Churan was about to politely decline, but Ye Chen interjected with a faint smile, “The table I reserved is just fine. There’s no need to trouble yourselves.”
After all, he had booked the entire rooftop garden to host a grand wedding celebration for Xiao Churan. A mere platinum member like Zhao Liqing was in no position to act superior.
Not to mention, the entire Shangri-La Hotel belonged to him. If he settled for an upgraded room meant for platinum members, wouldn’t that be lowering himself?
Zhao Liqing was clearly displeased, sneering, “Xiao Churan, look at your husband. He doesn’t know how to appreciate kindness at all. How do you even manage to put up with him?”
She then leaned intimately on Zheng Hao’s arm and giggled, “Ye Chen is clearly out of place in such a high-end venue. Maybe he should take some lessons in etiquette from my husband. After all, my husband studied in the UK and has impeccable manners.”
Zheng Hao cast a disdainful glance at Ye Chen and sneered, “Darling, don’t assign me impossible tasks. Teaching someone like Mr. Ye noble etiquette would be like trying to teach a pig to sing.”
Zhao Liqing nodded in mock sympathy and sighed, “Honestly, Churan, you should just divorce him. Spending your life with a man as impoverished as this is such a waste of yourself.”
Her words were blatant, leaving no room for subtlety or tact, completely disregarding Xiao Churan’s feelings.
Xiao Churan, who had been holding back, finally snapped. She retorted coldly, “What do you mean by that, Zhao Liqing? My husband is my husband; it’s not your place to judge him.”
Zhao Liqing laughed as though she had heard a joke and said, “Back in university, I never thought much of you. If it weren’t for your family having a bit of money, how could you have even been voted campus belle? Now, you’ve married poorly, and I’m not even allowed to comment?”
Ye Chen’s face darkened.
This Zhao Liqing, who had been notorious for her promiscuity back in college, dared to mock his wife?
She might have lucked into marrying into a wealthy family, but did that make her truly noble?
Thinking of this, his anger surged.
Quietly, Ye Chen took out his phone and sent a message to Chen Zekai, the general manager of the Shangri-La.
“Within three minutes, I want a full dossier on Zhao Liqing, the Zheng family’s daughter-in-law.”
Zhao Liqing, noticing Ye Chen silently looking at his phone, scoffed, “Look at your husband, Churan. I’m openly mocking him, and he doesn’t even dare to defend you. Isn’t that hilarious?”
At that moment, Ye Chen received a text reply from Chen Zekai:
“Master, I’ve sent you Zhao Liqing’s detailed information.”
Ye Chen read the lengthy report and then glanced at Zhao Liqing and Zheng Hao with a faint smile. “I’ve just come across some very interesting information. Would you like to hear it?”
Zhao Liqing frowned. “What kind of information?”
Ye Chen raised his voice slightly. “Zhao Liqing, female, 26, graduated from Jinling University.”
“During her freshman year, she reportedly had over 100 instances of hotel check-ins with eight different men—names include Li Hu, Ma Fei, and Du Xiaoping, to name a few.”
Zhao Liqing’s face turned pale as she stammered, “You’re talking nonsense! I can sue you for defamation!”
Zheng Hao, standing beside her, furrowed his brows, clearly shaken by what he was hearing.
Ye Chen continued nonchalantly, “Oh, here’s an interesting one. There were a few times when she checked in with two men at once. Their names were Dong Bin and Dong Jie—brothers, no less. Were you trying out a ménage à trois?”
Zhao Liqing was trembling, screaming, “You’re lying! None of that’s true!”
Ignoring her protests, Ye Chen went on, “Sophomore year, she was kept as a mistress by the deputy general manager of Shenghua Group for 30,000 yuan a month. This arrangement lasted three years, during which she underwent four abortions. All procedures were conducted at Jinling Maternity Hospital. The last one resulted in permanent infertility.”
Turning to Zheng Hao, Ye Chen added with a smirk, “Let me guess, Mr. Zheng—no children yet, right?”
Zheng Hao’s expression darkened instantly. He glared at Zhao Liqing and demanded, “What’s this about?!”
Panicking, Zhao Liqing grabbed Zheng Hao’s arm and stammered, “Honey, don’t believe him! I gave you my first time, remember?”
Ye Chen chuckled. “Don’t rush to deny it. There’s more.”
Before Zhao Liqing could pull Zheng Hao away, Zheng Hao froze and asked, “What else?”
Ye Chen grinned. “After graduating, she had extensive plastic surgery and plotted to snag a rich husband. She deliberately scraped Zheng Hao’s Bentley to engineer a ‘chance encounter.’ From there, they became a couple and eventually married.”
Zheng Hao’s eyes widened in shock. He knew some of this was true, meaning the rest likely was as well.
Zhao Liqing collapsed to the floor, her face as pale as death.
She wailed, “Ye Chen, please, I beg you, stop! I’m begging you!”
Ye Chen smirked coldly. “Begging? Now you’re begging me? It’s too late!”
Turning to Zheng Hao, he added, “Oh, and before marrying you, she underwent hymen repair surgery to fake her innocence. If you want proof, I can retrieve her medical records for you.”
Zheng Hao was livid. He grabbed Zhao Liqing by her collar, slapped her hard across the face, and roared, “You still won’t tell the truth?! If I find this out to be true, I’ll kick you out of my house, along with your entire family. Your brother won’t work at the Zheng Group anymore, and your parents can forget about staying in my villa!”
Zhao Liqing broke down completely, kneeling and begging, “I was wrong! I was young and foolish back then. I’ve changed, I swear!”
Ye Chen, delivering the final blow, said, “Oh, by the way, she reconnected with her former sugar daddy after marrying you. They even had a few ‘farewell sessions,’ one of which was recorded. If you’re interested, I can get you the video.”
Zhao Liqing let out a blood-curdling scream, completely losing all composure.
The once-arrogant woman was now utterly ruined.
