After leaving Emerald Pavilion, Ye Chen didn’t go home right away.

He wanted to give his wife a complete surprise on their wedding anniversary.

Not just the jade necklace, but also the romantic wedding they never had.

Back then, Ye Chen and Xiao Churan had hastily registered their marriage due to the old master’s insistence, without a proper wedding.

The old master had originally planned to choose an auspicious day to hold a grand wedding, but he fell seriously ill shortly after they got their marriage certificate.

After his passing, no one in the Xiao family respected Ye Chen, making the wedding even more impossible.

But now, Ye Chen was wealthy, and he was determined to give his wife the wedding she deserved!

Thinking about the wedding, the first place that came to mind was the Sky Garden at Shangri-La Hotel.

Shangri-La was the most luxurious hotel in Jinling, with vast grounds and extravagant decor, featuring a high-end shopping mall inside.

The Sky Garden was located at the top level of the mall.

It earned its name because it was entirely constructed with crystal glass and adorned with freshly imported luxury flowers, making it look like a grand floating garden in the sky.

It was also the most prestigious and luxurious banquet hall in Jinling. Holding a wedding there would cost at least several million yuan.

But now, money was no longer a concern for Ye Chen. As long as it made his wife happy, nothing else mattered.

So, Ye Chen headed to Shangri-La Hotel, intending to book the Sky Garden for their anniversary.

However, he didn’t know that Shangri-La operated on a strict membership system.

Whether dining, staying, or hosting events, a membership card was required.

Membership tiers determined access:

Regular Members could only dine in the main hall and stay in standard rooms.

Silver Members had access to private dining rooms and luxury accommodations.

Gold Members could dine in luxury private rooms and stay in luxury suites.

Platinum Members could dine in the Sky Garden and stay in top-tier luxury suites.

Diamond Members had exclusive access to the presidential suite and could book the entire Sky Garden for private events.

Gold and above memberships weren’t something money alone could buy; social status was required.

As Ye Chen approached Shangri-La, two black-suited security guards blocked his way.

“Sorry, sir, please show your membership card.”

Ye Chen’s clothes, costing less than 200 yuan altogether, made him stand out awkwardly among the elegantly dressed guests.

Ye Chen quickly said, “I’d like to speak to your client manager about booking the venue.”

The guard replied coldly, “Sorry, no entry without a membership card.”

Ye Chen asked, “Can I apply for a membership now?”

The guard shook his head. “Memberships require a referral.”

Ye Chen frowned. Shangri-La is really this strict?

Not knowing what to do, Ye Chen suddenly remembered his old college classmate, Bi Lina, who worked here.

He immediately called her.

After explaining his situation, Bi Lina cheerfully said, “Class monitor Ye, leave it to me! I’ll be right over!”

Ye Chen quickly thanked her.

Although they had only been classmates for a year, there was still some friendship between them. He made a mental note to repay her kindness in the future.

Moments later, a woman’s excited voice called out, “Oh, Class Monitor Ye!”

Looking up, Ye Chen saw a heavily made-up, flamboyantly dressed woman sauntering out of the hotel.

Bi Lina? Her transformation was so drastic Ye Chen almost didn’t recognize her!

Seeing her, the two security guards quickly bowed and respectfully greeted, “Team Leader Bi.”

Ye Chen was surprised. “Bi Lina, you’re a team leader at Shangri-La now? That’s impressive!”

Bi Lina smiled proudly. “Oh, you flatter me. I’m just a small team leader in HR, barely middle management here.”

Ye Chen genuinely praised her, “That’s still impressive. I’ve heard Shangri-La’s management standards are very high. You’re remarkable!”

Bi Lina smirked proudly but then glared coldly at the guards. “You two blocked my old class monitor at the door?”

The guards exchanged nervous glances. One quickly explained, “Sorry, Team Leader Bi, we didn’t know he was your classmate. Without a membership card, we were just following hotel policy…”

Bi Lina sneered, “Rules are dead, people are alive. Don’t you understand that?”

Ye Chen thought she was about to punish them and quickly said, “Bi Lina, don’t be too hard on them. They were just doing their job.”

But Bi Lina suddenly burst into laughter, her demeanor changing completely as she mocked, “Oh, Class Monitor Ye, you really think too highly of yourself! Did you really think I’d stand up for you and punish my subordinates?”

Ye Chen frowned. “Bi Lina, what do you mean by this?”

“What do I mean?” Bi Lina sneered. “Isn’t it obvious? A broke loser like you wants to enter Shangri-La? Let me tell you—don’t even think about it in this lifetime!

Ye Chen clenched his fists. “What’s your problem?”

“My problem?” Bi Lina laughed mockingly. “I’m just messing with you! Back in college, I couldn’t stand you. You were just a nerdy loser who couldn’t even afford a meat dish at the cafeteria, yet you acted all high and mighty as the class monitor, lecturing me about my grades. Pfft! Look at yourself!”

Ye Chen’s face darkened. “Bi Lina, I’ve never wronged you. Why are you constantly mocking me?”
