Fall is the most beautiful time of the year in the Carolina's. The air is crisp and trees fire with wonderful red,yellow and orange color. So our story begins with papa Tab and son, Henry raking leaves in the backyard together. Let's rake a big pile of leaves Henry remarks papa Tab and then you can run and jump into the pile. Oh boy shouts Henry big fun coming! Normally this task would fall to momma Jan. But since the accident, life in the Hunter household has changed and faced new challenges. You see Henry and Momma Jan were hit by a drunk driver on the way home from the grocery store. A big Ford pickup truck hit the family minivan squarely in the middle and flipped over. All the noise and the sounds of the emergency vehicle sirens is all Henry can remember. I blacked out and plunged into a world of blindness. My mother was badly injured and had surgery to repair her badly shattered right leg with plates and screws.The doctor fixed the bone back straight in her right leg with a two operation and full length cast from ankle to high thigh.thus landing her in a wheelchair. Tab and Henry called momma Jan time for lunch..please go wash up. Mom was challenged in a lot of household duties..but cooking she was doing very well still. Papa and I helped rearrange the kitchen pots and pans so momma could reach them. The food pantry was done so that staple items were now at her arms reach from her wheelchair. I was now chef mother's assistant, chef Henry with a white hat and apron to match. Okay everyone today's lunch special pasta salad with black olives,mushrooms, green peas and bacon bits with carrot and apple slice to dip in yogurt declared momma Jan. Silenced filled the air in the kitchen as everyone had their mouths full of delicious food. Mothers have broke the silence saying Henry what costume are you thinking about for Halloween? A super hero replied Henry. What super hero asked papa Tab..Batman,Superman or Spiderman? I was thinking of wolverine or beast from the X-men replied Henry. Good idea uttered momma Jan I could be storm and Your father could be Professor Xavier. Suddenly the cordless phone began to ring..buzz Hello this Tab Hunter answering the phone...Hello Tab this Nora from the Atlanta gallery is Jan Available? Pleased hold Nora Jean while I wheel her to the phone. Hey answered Jan what can I help you with? Well I just wanted to update with the art galleries board recent decision to move the action to Halloween and throw a gala fall party bash with a big silent auction for art works at the end of the event. Two of my paintings I am guessing will be the feature pieces of the auction? asked Jan Correct replied Nora Jean can I count on Tab and you attending the gala party bash? Yes responded Jan my art works are the feature attractions in the auction. Thank you for your attendance on such short notice . I will have a courier deliver the plane tickets and hotel reservations and limo transport details to you on Monday Jan continued Nora Jean. That will great Nora,thanks bye remarked momma Jan. Well goes the family Halloween plans declared momma Jan. Hey guys remarked papa Tab we will just have to come up with an alternate Holiday plan for family Halloween. How about going to a pumpkin patch shouted Henry. That's a great idea remarked momma Jan. Last year for LIFE IN THE Country art piece I traveled around the Durham rural area going to several farms. I think I still the file buried somewhere in my laptop. I am sure one of the farms will have a pumpkin patch and hayride continued momma Jan. Tab, honey can you call your mother and see if she can watch Henry for us,please. Good idea stated papa Tab let me go call her now!
