I just simply replied to an ad looking for a new fresh face to advertise a new line of perfume for coming of age women. I was just out of high school scrambling to go to a top private academic institution of higher learning in Texas. My parents said go to local junior college to start..get your bearings and your head in the game. Dad said this what we can afford baby girl as he sat me down for a five dollar cup of coffee for the reality talk. I responded I hear you dad..but my dream is bigger than local community college. Okay replied dad..so what is your plan. You did such a great job in high school..graduated with honors and your volunteer work boosted your college prospects. But honey, your mom and me simply can not afford to send you to UT or Rice or Baylor continued my father. I know... I responded you both had to find new careers after being laid off when I was a high school freshman. You were in line to be the next partner at Brooks & Dale. Mom was to be the associate professor of math at Haven Community College I continued. Now both of you are selling real estate and just making ends meet I uttered. So dad I woke up this morning to seventeen messages left on my phone from some important mystery person I uttered.
