She couldn't remember how she got here, in another world. A world that was unlike the one she had grown up in. The one where creatures are out creeping and hunting during the night.

Before that happened, it was a normal work day at the office, and Lilian worked late at the office once again. The doors opened and her boss entered the room.

"Lilian, I understand you were supposed to go to a party tonight. But there is something that you have to do." Her boss declared sadly and then placed a large stack of papers on the desk.

Why does he suddenly want me to work on more things? She wondered as she stretched. Lilian knew that if she wanted to continue working there, she must comply with what he wanted. So, she sighed, and replied, "Alright. Leave the paperwork on my desk, and I will get through it, even if it takes all night.

Once her boss placed the paper on the desk, he left. And she got to work right away. As the night wore on, she felt her eyes beginning to close. She was exhausted after working for so many long hours. Finally succumbing to her tired energy, Lilian closed her eyes and drifted into a deep sleep.

At one point her head was resting on the cool surface of the desk, and the next, she was standing in a dark forest, surrounded by unfamiliar territories. The sound of rustling leaves awoken her and she began to scream, disoriented from the sudden change in scenery.

Her heart started beating against her ribcage at every crunch of branches underneath her foot. Lilian's hand made her way to her chest. How did I get here? How will I get back home? She wondered as she made her way further down the dark shadowy path.

As she continued down the path, the wind howled and echoed the eeriness of it. Each step she took, echoed her nervous energy.

Then out of nowhere, something ran in front of Lilian causing her to stumble and fall.

"I am sorry. Let me help you up," the strange man told her as he bent down. Before he could get close, his eyes turned bloodshot red for just a moment. But just as she was about to see it, he changed his eye color back to what it originally was.

What did I see? Did his eye color change? Or was it only part of the shadows in this forest? Lilian wondered while he reached his hand out, urging her to grab it.

Cautiously, she grabbed his hand and stood up off the ground. I have no idea why I am doing this for someone I don't know. Let alone somebody I have no relations with. The stranger wondered to himself.

After that, she dusted off her outfit. "Thank you for helping me up." Even though she did not trust his intentions, she listened to him.

Not knowing what to do, she nervously shifted from one foot to another. Her eyes started darting and surveying her surroundings. She was trying to figure a way out of the forest, but it was difficult for her.

Noticing the awkward pause, the stranger decided to break it. "It is no problem at all. Why are you out here on your own?" The strange man asked, as his mouth curled into a sly grin.

Hearing the curiosity in his voice, Lilian did not want to reveal too much. "There is nothing you need to know." She told him as she started calming down her nerves. For some reason, his energy was like a beacon of light in the darkness, guiding her down the path.

With a slight nod, he replied, "That is understandable. But you need to know it will get colder, and other creatures will come around if you stay here. So, why don't you follow me to a cabin in the furthest part of the forest?" He questioned as he started walking away from her.
