“It was just a dream!”, sighed Bullpuss, glancing over towards his companions, who had just rushed in from the garden having heard the news.
Mrs Ribby and her daughter Ruby had nearly wrecked the cat-flap in their anxious dash to support Bullpuss.
“When we went out after lunch, you were examining Old Mistress’s beautiful new velvet cushions, in their gorgeous shades of purple, bottle green and blue,” said Ruby.
“You looked so cosy as you settled down in the middle, we could only see the tips of your ears,” said Mrs Ribby.
“Well”, replied Bullpuss, “I thought I was eating a giant cat-nip flavoured marshmallow, but when I awoke, the blue cushion had gone!”
