Synopsis
Here in Great Britain, we have a long history concerning trains and locomotives, starting originally in the Victorian era and precipitating immense changes to the built environment whilst calling time on the canals and waterways which had transported goods during the Industrial Revolution.
Fuelled by coal, coke, water, steam and nostalgia, the long missed days of steam locomotives, with their well oiled mechanics, noise and smoky funnels are revered by a enthusiastic following, started by today’s great-grandfathers and passed down through the generations.
My favourite passions, namely my children and grandchildren, followed closely by cats and jazz and inspired by a celebratory trip on a restored steam locomotive and its coaches (all readily available in Britain) inspired this story and its illustrations, which Very Old Mistress (my wife Roz) and myself, Very Old Master hope y’all will enjoy!
