Rose awoke, the sun was shining on her through the bedroom Window, she did not recognize the room, it had flowers by her bedside along with her mobile phone and a chair next to her bed, the smell of antiseptic reached her nostrils, and then she realized she was in a hospital.
She tried to sit up, but her head and body ached from top to bottom. She managed to reach her mobile and switch it on. She saw that she had seventeen voicemail messages, all from a number she did not recognise. She listened to the first message, which was from a man who had a very soothing voice, asking her if she was all right and telling her that she was under his protection and she would never be harmed.
Before she could go on to the next message, a nurse entered the room, saw she was awake, and told her that she was in the hospital, she had been in a car accident, and needed to keep still. she took the phone from her and put it back on the bedside table. The nurse said, "I will go and get the doctor. He will need to look at you now, you have regained consciousness." She left the room. Rose reached for her mobile and listened to the next message. Again, the man with a soothing voice said, "You will be okay, do not worry, you have been asleep for a long time and cannot remember what happened, put the phone down as the doctor will need to examine you, you can listen to my messages later, remember you are safe."
Rose was perplexed; she did not know what was happening; however, she managed to open the bedside cabinet's drawer and slipped the mobile into it. She was also intrigued as who this person was, but did as he said. The doctor then came into the room. He was young, with black hair and brown eyes, and he smiled as he asked her how she was feeling. She told him she ached all over and that she had a headache; he told her that was to be expected. He then asked her if she knew her name, "Yes, my name is Rose Smith," she said. Why?
He then told her that she had been unconscious for three months and on a life support machine until yesterday after a very bad car accident. Her Sister had agreed to switch it off to see if she could live without it, and you have now come back to us. He then did a thorough examination and told her that her physical injuries had healed well, due to the long period of rest. They would now conduct a full scan to see if everything was okay, but he would go and phone her sister to share the good news. She has been here for the past twelve weeks, she will be thrilled you have come back to us. Before leaving, he told her that she had crashed into a lorry on the motorway and overturned her car. She was the only injured person. She was very lucky to be alive. They had thought that she would not survive without a brain injury when they turned off the life support machine.
After he left the room, she opened the drawer and switched on her mobile. She listened to the next five messages, which all said the same thing: "You are safe and under my protection." How on earth was her mobile still charged and receiving voice messages after 12 weeks, and what had happened to make her crash? Every time she tried to remember, her head just ached; she knew she was going to stay with her sister in the Lake District, and that was all she could remember.
Chapter 2
After she had been down for her scan, her sister came running into the room and gave her a big hug, saying," How awful it had been, and now the doctor tells me it is a miracle, you have survived the accident, and there does not seem to be any major injuries. The scan said you are okay. " Rose told her that she did not remember the accident, only driving on the motorway in the pouring rain and then waking up earlier. Rose then asked her if she had charged her mobile phone for her? "Pam replied, "What mobile phone? your car was a right off I have not seen your phone." Rose asked her to open the bedside cabinet and get our the mobile phone. Pam did and then said, "Rose, there is no mobile phone in the drawer."
Rose told her that when she woke up earlier, she had a seventeen voice calls on her mobile. Pam said, "You must have been dreaming. Don't worry, you are back with us now. Bob and the children are outside. Can I bring them in if you are not too tired?"
"Yes, of course," said Rose. The rest of Pam's family came in and told her how pleased they were that she had at last come round. They had all been really worried about her, and now they could not wait until she could come home with them.
The Doctor came in and told them they should now leave as he wanted to check up on her and make sure she got a good night's sleep. Rose then asked him if they had moved her mobile phone from her bedside drawer when she had gone for her scan.
"What mobile phone?" He asked. The nurse then came in and she repeated the question and said. "The one you took off me this morning to the nurse." The nurse assured her that she had not taken a mobile from her, and perhaps she had been dreaming before she came round. Rose then thought it must be the effects of the accident, so she thanked them and then asked how long she would be in the hospital. The Doctor told her he thought they we keep her under observation for the next week, and if everything was okay, then she would be discharged.
She settled down for the night, and just before she fell asleep, she opened the drawer, and there was the mobile. She went to the next message and heard the most beautiful music. It was soothing, calming, and relaxing. The next five messages all had this beautiful music, no voice, but beautiful music. She fell asleep and dreamed she was floating on the clouds listening to music.
She awoke early the next morning feeling so much better. She looked for the mobile it was not on the bed. She went to the drawer and there it was, she went to the fourteenth message and the soothing voice said, "You are safe and under my protection".
This repeated until she got to message seventeen, and the soothing voice said, "Rose, you are now fully recovered. You called out for help just as your car impacted with the lorry, you said. "Oh dear God, please help me? so he did he sent me to protect you. I think you know who I am? if not, I will tell you I am Michael, the angel of protection job is done now, enjoy your life. Oh, by the way, all the messages from beyond and the phone will now disappear."
The End.
