A-01 watched Tom without averting her gaze for a second! A shadowy figure weighed down the energy around her. Griff had stood beside her.
<< It seems your little human is adapting easily..>> he commented through clenched teeth.
<< As you can see, I was right! He can coexist with us..>> A-01 replied, always with her characteristic smile.
<< I am curious to see how long this will last>> he said with a malicious hint.
<< What do you mean, my dear Advisor ? >> A-01 asked with a tone of irony slipping from her.
The burly man looked at her thoughtfully, and crossed his arms behind his back.
<< Ah! I can already see he’s starting to influence you! You’re beginning to resonate with his characteristic irony! You realize this, don’t you ? >>
<< I think you’re mistaken, Griff. And I truly can’t understand why you still have this negative attitude! >> A-01 declared innocently.
Griff leaned in almost threateningly, his face close to hers. A cold stare and a chilling breath matched the atmosphere in which they lived. A-01 felt her body shiver, but she wouldn’t let it affect her.
<< We all know, especially you, what the calling of human nature is! And no one, absolutely no one, can fight what they truly are! I am just making a friendly reminder! >> he said, emphasizing each word intensely, brushing past A-01 indifferently as he moved away. She lowered her gaze with thoughts overwhelming her, but decided it wasn’t the time for analysis.
She lifted her eyes to meet Tom’s. She discerned a worried expression on his face, which she tried to dispel by smiling and clapping enthusiastically. She didn’t want to provoke any human curiosity in case he had seen her talking to Griff. She failed, as Tom turned his attention back to the game, wearing the same troubled expression.
