Now, in this tangled web of existence, there lived a man named Radan Chrobok, which — if you squint your eyes just right and tilt your head like a curious cat — means “Bringer of Joy” and, with an out-of-the-box translation, “the holy scarab, king of gods, rolling the Sun.” It’s a name with a lot of expectations packed into it, because if you’re going to have a name like that, you’d better be doing something important! Rolling up celestial bodies, for example. Or just carrying the weight of the transformative spiritual world with a cheerful smile, which was pretty much how Radan spent his days, especially Thursdays — days of Master according to ancient Indian tradition, if you catch that highest hovering truth.

2) Use the best possible time!

On this particular Saturday morning, Radan was preparing for the third date — so significant 🍑🥒 — with his life Partner Lucie Štoková, a woman who was more — oh so much more — than just an average Prague citizen. She was in fact a spiritual Queen, which made her a queen in the sense that it wasn't cliché like in fairy tales and carried even greater significance. Her name, Lucie, means “The Light,” and if there was ever a woman who could brighten up a room, it was her. Meanwhile, her surname, Štoková, roguely (no typo but pun intended) translates to “Floor” or “Beer brewing barrel,” which led one to wonder if she was destined to be like a lighthouse, illuminating the dark and confusing corners of life, or maybe also functioning as adventurous beam-up to make things interesting when Radan occasionally rolled his ball of conCENTRation into too serious if not even unwelcoming spikey hedgerows.

The day was set for romance, magic, and the kind of philosophical debates that would make even the wizards of Unseen University throw up their hands and declare it beer o’clock. Radan, who was not just your run-of-the-mill human but in fact a Grandmaster of Yoga, Tantra, and a martial art named Ninpo (which sounds suspiciously like the disagreements of the The Knights Who Say Ni — according to Monty Python), taught through the internet in a cozy corner of an awesome or outright out of this world restaurant Ganesha, which depends on your taste — literally. As always, he blended the practical with the mystical, like a cosmic alchemist trying to figure out if he should order common chamomile tea or the special scumble — the drink to get over-sober. After all, one never knew how these things would go, especially when dating a spiritual Queen who was an artist and holder of a red diploma in MBA!

Lucie, for her part, arrived just in time, as kings and also queens should do. She moved with the grace of a corvid bird in a moonlit sky, which made perfect sense since she has the personality of a raven — though not the sort prone to squawking but rather to collect shiny things. But she was especially the type of raven who could look deep into your soul and know exactly how many times you’d skipped flossing this week. She was dressed in a hand-made black brigandine with the twist that it would look colorful — including octarine — in UV light.
