BPD Love

Push and pull

Go away, come closer

Heart is empty, yet full

Strong, yet weak

Ask me to stay, and tell me to go

Tell me you love me, and ask me not to

Speak words and actions that can’t show

Express impossible expectations and sweet possibilities

Expect perfection, but fall short

Demand strength, but bow to weakness

Desire love, but destroy all support

Pray with questions, but ignore the answers

Lost, don’t want to be found

Searching, don’t want to find

Chasing the dreams, don’t want solid ground

Missing the easy turmoil, don’t want the hard peace

Need all control, reject accountability

Plead for permanence, reject loyalty

Want the roller coaster, reject stability

Require honesty, reject reliability

Hope for better days, just deny others’ ways

Wish for clarity, just deny others’ advice

Crave the capricious one, just deny the one who stays

Long for love, just deny the truth

Fun and games, ignore the lie

Fake love, real pain

Forever is only a word, tomorrow will cry

Forget the warnings and signs, remember only the fun

*Loving someone with Borderline Personality Disorder is difficult, confusing and often painful. The BPD person often doesn't even realize what they are doing to their partner, though some do and simply do not care.*
