Pam tightened the scarf as the first cramp seized her stomach. Johnson fought against her, and she lost her grip when her stomach revolted. Bile streamed down her chin as she fought to control both her heaving stomach and the pig. Johnson quickly turned the tables on her, yanking her over the seat.

Pam choked and struggled as he punched her, one hand gripping her neck. She tried to reach the knife strapped to her thigh, but he climbed atop her and shoved her head towards the floor.

Red and blue lights of a police cruiser lit the dark alley, but Pam never saw them. Johnson did, however, but it was too late. Covered in her blood, he was arrested.

 

Johnson got life in prison for the murder of the Assistant District Attorney, but Pam’s home safe revealed case files on hundreds of missing or murdered people. Dozens of men and women stood trial for various crimes after investigators started linking names and people started to make deals to save themselves.

 

Jack sat in his darkened cell, with only a smuggled pint of vodka and a 9mm for company. His guard had been a friend in the past and helped him now at the end. He knew his life was over. The Group fell apart quickly enough and soon his trial would start.

He looked at the picture in his hand. Jake, his twin twelve years ago, before his murder. “I’m sorry Jake…I tried.” He whispered before he put the gun into his mouth and pulled the trigger.
