Chapter 7&nbsp;Morgana was contemplating her next move when the doorbell shattered the silence of Casper's house. Casper, still glued to his phone, barely glanced up. "Morgana, see who that is." His tone was indifferent, almost dismissive.&nbsp;Lost in thought, Morgana nodded and headed for the door, a sense of unease settling over her. Distracted, she nearly tripped on the doormat, an awkward stumble that caught the attention of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who watched her with mild curiosity.&nbsp;A moment later, she returned, followed by two employees from one of the Smith family’s restaurants, carrying bags of food. "Food delivery," Morgana announced to Casper, stepping aside to let them pass.&nbsp;Mrs. Smith gestured for them to take the food straight to the dining room. "Good," Casper said, his voice betraying his hunger. "I've been starving." He stood and headed towards the dining area, the Smiths following. Mrs. Smith turned to Morgana with a smile. "Morgana, dear, join us."&nbsp;"Thank you," Morgana replied, grateful for the invitation. She realized she was starving; the morning's tension and worries made her appetite lose.&nbsp;In the dining room, Casper was already seated, watching the delivery staff arrange the dishes. Once they finished, Mr. Smith tipped them, and they left. The Smiths settled at the table, and Morgana hesitated before taking a seat.&nbsp;As she ate, the familiar tastes evoked memories of her childhood, of her father bringing home takeout after long days at work. A bittersweet mix of joy and sadness crept over her, a reminder of happier times before her family fell apart. The memories quickly soured, replaced by the bitter reality of her parents' divorce. She swallowed hard, fighting back tears, determined not to let her emotions show in front of her employers.&nbsp;Her parents had separated because her mother craved a life of luxury that she felt her father couldn't provide. When her mother had left, she took her. After the separation, her mother had worked as an executive secretary, believing it was the path to the life she desired. Soon, she was courted by wealthy men and eventually married an older bachelor, becoming Morgana’s stepfather.&nbsp;Resentful towards her mother, Morgana had directed her anger at her stepfather, never forming a close bond with him. Her constant disrespect eventually led to her being kicked out from his stepfather's luxurious house. Her mother sided with her husband, and Morgana was sent back to her father, who had remarried and had a new child.&nbsp;It had been a long time since she'd been back in her mother's house, not since her mother had given her back to her father, who then left her in Faith Brown's care. Now, she only spoke to her mother on the phone when her mother sent money, which she often shared with Faith to help with household expenses. Only her father made time to visit her at Faith’s house to check on her. She once mentioned Luna to him, but he dismissed it, suspecting she was unwell. He tried to convince her to see a psychiatrist, but she resisted and never mentioned Luna again. Her father, like her aunt, Faith, believed she was unwell, and she even suspected her as that woman in the rain who bothered male clients. Her aunt never believed Luna existed.&nbsp;The loud ring of her cellphone snapped Morgana back to the present. The Smiths were looking at her. "Excuse me, I need to take this," she said. They nodded and continued eating. She hurried out of the dining room and answered the call from an unknown number. She frowned, wondering who it could be.&nbsp;"Hello? Who is this?"&nbsp;"Hello, Morgana?" A familiar voice greeted her. It was her mother.&nbsp;"Mom? Why are you calling?" she asked, her voice revealing her displeasure.&nbsp;"Oh, Faith told me you're in the capital city. You should come visit me. You're nearby, after all. I’ll buy you some clothes. I heard you're working as an assistant to your father's employer's son, right?" Her mother wanted to confirm.&nbsp;"Yes, I just started today. I don't have time to visit you," Morgana confirmed. "Besides, I've forgotten where your place is located. You kicked me out a long time ago, remember?"&nbsp;"Morgana, don't start digging into the past," her mother replied, avoiding the accusation. "I'll text you the address. Please, come visit, even if it's just for a little while, okay?"&nbsp;"Fine," Morgana said reluctantly.&nbsp;"Good," her mother said, her voice brightening. But her tone changed as she continued, "And Morgana, be careful around Mr. Smith's son.”&nbsp;“What? And why?” Morgana gasped, her annoyance flaring. She didn’t want advice from the woman who had abandoned her.&nbsp;"There is a rumor he’s been acting strange lately…always arguing with her stepmom," her mother explained. "Like acting as a different person now. Maybe he's losing his mind. Maybe he can’t move on from his past relationships and needs a checkup.”&nbsp;Morgana's heart pounded. She knew why. It was because he was possessed by Adam’s ghost. She wanted to tell her mother but hesitated. What if she thinks I’m losing my sanity too? She sighed.&nbsp;"Morgana? Are you still there?" her mother asked when she didn't respond.&nbsp;Morgana forced herself to speak, her voice trembling slightly. "Yeah. Alright. So, what happened to his past relationship?" Morgana asked, even though she had a hint of the answer.&nbsp;"His best friend stole the woman he was going to marry. That’s why he was full of anger. So, if I were you, Morgana, I'd find another job. He might be a difficult boss."&nbsp;"But Sir Casper seems nice. Adam and Luna were the ones who wronged him," Morgana defended her employer.&nbsp;"What did you say? You still asked what happened when you already knew about Adam and Luna?" her mother asked, surprised.&nbsp;"Well, Luna's ghost has been appearing to me," Morgana blurted out, hoping her mother would believe her.&nbsp;"Morgana, are you losing your mind too?" her mother said, her voice laced with panic. "Honey, I'm going to accompany you to a checkup..."&nbsp;"I'm just kidding, Mom. I just heard their names from the Smiths," she said, forcing a laugh to sound convincing. Realizing she'd said too much and that her mother wouldn’t believe her, Morgana quickly retracted her words. She didn't want to be subjected to a checkup like the one her father had suggested.&nbsp;"Oh! You scared me," her mother said, feigning annoyance. "Alright, I have to go before your boss gets mad at you for being on your cellphone. Just make sure to visit, okay?"&nbsp;"Yeah, yeah. You're so persistent," Morgana replied and ended the call.&nbsp;She was annoyed with her mother, who, as usual, hadn't believed her. Her mother had chosen a life of luxury over her own daughter. Morgana shook her head.&nbsp;After the call, Morgana felt an urgent need to talk to Casper, to help these ghosts find peace so that neither she nor Casper would be bothered by them anymore. She took a deep breath and returned to the dining area.
