Animation with WH narrating..
It was a nice calm day and the annual balloon race was about to start.
The announcer (AN) shouts "on your marks, get set....go!!"
10 colourful balloons all racing to a destination just over the lake take off instantly all rising fiercely, a red one with two yellow circles around it, a blue one with a red star on it's side, a yellow one with blue dots....well you get the picture.....all rising... except for one, a magnificent balloon indeed, the brightest of whites with a golden pocket watch in the centre.
The announcer says to the guy still grounded "my lord you may go now"
HER grandfather states "no I think not, the race starts at 3pm sharp and by my watch that says there are 4 more minutes.
The announcer retorts quite worryingly "but everyone else has started by my watch which is now coming up to one minute past three"
Old stubborn grandad "either way it is not 3pm YET"
Announcer once again exasperated "look my lord they are nearly at the lake surely if you are to catch up you'd set off now"
Grandfather proudly states "listen here I have set everything from my morning toast and boiled egg to my evening cognac and cigar by this watch ever since it was given to me by my father just as it was given to him by his father before that and I am not about to start bending the rules now".
Just as her grandfather stops speaking rain starts pouring down and winds start blowing the balloons in the air everywhere, lightning strikes one of the balloons in the air causing it to crash into the other balloons and you see all of them crashing to the ground, people screaming, some of them on fire.... people and balloons....."
Back to real life from animation and still in the pub.
WH "there magic......"
YM "I wouldn't call that magic....." Stands up to walk away..
WH "oh yeah it brought the cat back to life....and a bird....and the old man if you believe the stories.......I did see the cat and the bird though.....with my own two eyes"
YM sits back down "two more single malt please....make them large ones"
