River 	I pushed Saraphina off me as the anger coming from Lyra rose and I could feel her growing further away from me. Seraphina looked at me indignantly as she caught her balance and then a sly self-satisfied look crossed her face as she looked into my eyes.	“Are you feeling ok River? You look a little” her smile grew “mad”. In that second the madness in me spiked to near uncontrollable levels and I saw myself reaching up to rip her throat out. I stood and rushed past her without a word. Once I got into the night air I felt a little more sane and a lot more desperate. Where the fuck was Kai! I paced outside, my skin feeling tender and sensitive to every slight breeze. I shivered, Lyra was beyond angry, she was hurt and she was confused. I wanted to go to her, every fiber of my body screamed to go to her, but if I left Kai Seraphina would find him, and I could not leave him to that fate. I looked up at the manor house as I paced and saw a dark figure staring at me from one of the 3rd-floor windows, strange red eyes glowing. I stared back.	“River” Kai panted, coming out of the house. I sighed in relief. “I don’t know what she is up to, but there is an energy….I couldn’t even go up to the third floor” He said, catching his breath.	“Lyra and Lily were here,” I said. Kai looked up at me and then around&nbsp;	“WHAT! Where are they?” Kai exclaimed.&nbsp;	“Lyra saw me distracting Seraphina for you, I don't know where they went but she is gone.” The look of fear that had begun filling Kai’s eyes calmed and then pity filled them,&nbsp;	“Lyra saw you? With Seraphina?” he said slowly. I nodded. “Fuuuuccckkkkk” he let the word trail off into silence.&nbsp;	“WE have to go NOW!” I said emphatically. He nodded and we got into the car. The drive felt like hours as We made our way to the house. I felt Lyra’s anger and pain rolling around, growing more and more acute by the second. The air smelled heavily of ozone as we got out, like it had in the cells. The hair on my arms stood up and my survival instinct told me to run, even the wolf inside me cowered from the confrontation. Lily walked outside as we pulled up looking strained and concerned.&nbsp;	“Elva and Micha already left. She is in the library” Lily said, she looked at me as if I was a dead man and I swallowed.&nbsp;	“Kai take Lily and go, I don't think this is going to be pretty,” I said.	“What about you?” He asked, apprehensive.	“I get the feeling the longer I am gone the more on edge she will be and I would rather not lose the packhouse to witch fire” Kai did not argue with that as he and Lily got in the car and drove off. I entered the house with a sense of impending demise as I walked into the library.&nbsp;	Even angry, she was beautiful. She was at one of the tables, a book and a wooden bowl before her, she seemed to be mumbling a spell of some kind. Her silky black hair hung over her shoulder and the white streaks shone in the light. I could not get over how soft and smooth her skin was and how desperate I was to touch her.&nbsp;	I watched as she lifted a knife and Looked up at me, a suspicious calm in her eyes.	“Hello River,” She said, her tone cold as frost.&nbsp;	“Lyra” I could only get out her name as she set down the knife and turned to me.	“You know you really had me fooled,” She said, still the queen of ice in front of me.	“I have never fooled you in anything Lyra” I whispered. She laughed a hollow angry sound. The wind picked up in the library and she glared at me. Gods she was the most breathtaking thing I had ever seen. Even as the embodiment of wrath, I wanted her.	“That is a gods damned LIE River!” She shouted, her eyes flaring bright “I know, I saw her all over you!”&nbsp; Her voice cracked, revealing the pain and anguish inside her.&nbsp;	“Lyra, I had to distract her! Kai was searching for the information you needed.” I said, pleading with her.	“OH, I&nbsp; BET! She looked plenty distracted as she practically fucked you right there in the middle of the room!” My heart rate quickened as the scent of power rose higher.&nbsp;	“Fucks sake Lyra I told you-” I said, growing frustrated.	“What you said is IRRELEVANT! I saw! I saw you touching her! I saw her kissing you! How could you! She cursed your fucking pack and there you were ready to what, fuck the answers out of her!” I flinched at her words like a slap in the face.&nbsp;	“I wasn’t-” I tried.	“STOP LYING! You were and you did, while I am here BLEEDING for your pack you are out trying to screw the bitch who made it necessary!” tears were streaming down her face and I longed desperately to wipe them away. I wanted to caress her and hold her. Was she really only upset because of the betrayal of my pack?&nbsp;	“LYRA STOP! Stop! I don’t want Seraphina!” I took a step forward and the wind rose to a gale force, whipping paper and books around the room, her eyes shone bright with power.&nbsp;	“And here I have been, wondering why all this time you kept pulling away. Gods I’m so stupid, I thought…” Her voice trailed off as she began to cry in earnest.	“You think Seraphina is why I have pulled away?” My voice was soft but it carried to her.&nbsp;	“Obviously! It makes so much fucking sense now! I wasn’t the witch you wanted!” her insecurity didn't make sense to me, how did she not know the power she had over me? “And the fucking worst part is I fell for you! I love you and you don't even want me!” Her anguished cry struck me, the emotion of despair that echoed down the bond was almost overwhelming and I walked to her.	“You think Seraphina is the one I want? Do you think it's her that keeps me up at night and drives me mad with her scent? Her that makes me feel like a starving man, addicted to a drug? You think when I close my eyes it's her eyes I see, haunting my every thought, my every movement! No Lyra, she has not crossed my mind in that way in a long while. When I dream it is of you, your lips, your laugh, your smile. The way you feel pressed against me, the scent of your arousal, the taste of you! It is you that drives me to the brink of madness! And while I was there it was YOU I wanted. When I saw you I thought my own desire for you had conjured you! I have not wanted anything since that first night in the cabin when I saw you!” I took another tentative step toward her and she looked at me. I reached out slowly and touched her cheek, wiping away the tears. “Lyra I love YOU!” I confessed in a whisper. I felt a snapping down the bond and suddenly she was in my arms, and her lips were on mine.&nbsp;	The kiss traveled to my core, it was rough and raw and the type of kiss that changes someone's very bones. I pulled her tight, feeling like I could not get close enough to her, a deep growl built in my chest as her nails dug into me, causing delicious stings of pain. I would make her scream my name to the very gods above. “Lyra I love you” I whispered again and her gasping moan rocked through my body.
