Once she was finished opening her last gift she looked at me and asked me to open mine, I couldn’t help but notice that on the name tag, it said ‘To my pink panther’, and ‘Love forever Mom’.
It looked just like my mother’s handwriting however she had been gone since October and so this confused me.
I opened the beautiful packaging and inside the box was a handwritten letter from my mom along with a single round clear ornament with a single white feather in it. The ornament sparkled and shined brighter than anything I have ever seen and the feather was white and glimmered like snow.
Engraved on the ornament was a note “I love you so much my earth angel, here’s a feather from my wings to remind you, I’ll always be with you. Love forever, Mom, xoxo.”
My daughter rushed over and before even reading the words written on the ornament she said “Is that from Grandma?”, trying to hold back my cracking voice, I said “Yes hunny, it is.”
My heart was instantaneously filled with joy, and peace, my eyes welled up with tears of happiness as I held that ornament close to my heart.
It was the most divine, and beautiful gift I had ever and would ever receive.
My beliefs and faith returned to me that faithful morning, and from then on my heart was full again.
