Chapter Ten This evening was another user group meeting, and this time we'd demonstrate our new Portals. “You'll love these. You can use ZOOM, MS TEAMS, WIRE, WHAT'S APP, just to name a few to make phone contact with families and friends. The most effective way to use this program is for business or personal meetings. It'll come in handy in case---heaven forbid--- we had another pandemic.” We would have a little break, and then I would demonstrate the Omega 520's multimedia capabilities.“You can use a library of stock video footage, royalty-free music and photos of your choice to create great personal and business presentations. Did you know that adverting specialist recommend this program.? If you don't know what I mean, next time watch that Columbo episode “Double Exposure.” That got a laugh from the crowd. After the meeting, we had some refreshments. Faye came over and said, “Ah, sweetie, you've done a great job up there.” She kissed me after that. Mary Ann and her classmates came over. She'd say “You were amazing”. “Of course he is. I would know.” Faye would say as she wrapped her arm around my arm. “HEY TEDDY!!” That was Joe calling me. “What's up, Joe?” I said, smiling. “Dude, it's Luke Phillips from Channel Six.” Faye and I walked over there and sure enough, it was Luke Phillips, the field reporter for Channel Six. “How ya doing, Mr. Phillips?” “I've heard a lot about you, Mr. Schultz. The reason I'm here is that Channel Six is debuting a new TV show entitled, Interesting People of Our City. After what you've gone through, I think our viewers will be interested in your story.” I turned to Faye and asked her opinion. “What do you think?” “As long as you include me in it----”, she laughed. “Whenever you're ready, Mr. Phillips.” He would set up the cameras and lighting everywhere in the room. We'd sit down in the middle of the room with Luke Phillips.” As soon as the cameras started to roll, he'd begin the show. Luke Phillips would begin. “In today's show, we have a fascinating tale of a computer expert who had to live through quite a scare from bank robbers and a crime syndicate organization. Here to tell his story is Pullman City resident and computer user group leader, Theodore Schultz. Mr. Schultz, welcome to the program.” “Thank you. Luke; it's a pleasure to be with you.” “So you're a computer expert, Please describe what exactly you do with computers.” “Luke, I am familiar with computer low-level programming with the PC and Mac, as well as the new Omega 520 operating system. In our user group I would demonstrate the latest software for all platforms.” “You've got a really fascinating tale to tell our viewers.” Mr. Phillips said with a smile. “Can you tell us about it?” “Be glad to” I looked at Faye and we both smiled. “Okay. My name is Theodore Schultz, and I'm considered a computer geek. Some people tell me I look like Clark Kent or Superman, without the glasses.. It might have to do with my thick glasses or my attire. At least they like my looks....” .
