In the aftermath of the [redacted], there were many questions but few answers regarding those most affected by the tragedy and resulting [redacted]. One researcher took an interest in eight—The rest of this note is smudged with what looks like blood but given the special occasion, this note is acceptable-
They’d last seen the larger universe five hours ago, right before the ship entered the magnetic fold of the Eye and they began the arduous procedure of checking in at the dozen or so checkpoint that lay between them and the star colony. Thousands of glowing pinpricks – pupils without irises or whites or eyelids or lashes – blinked out and replaced by grey walls, dark corridors. Huge and endless and claustrophobic.
Sam and Mona were attached at the hip, that was until Sam made a move that brought out the worst in both of them. When these two reconnect in a creative writing class two years later, their festering grudges resurface in two very different ways. Sam can’t seem to let go of the past to experience the present, and Mona is so violently stuck in the present that she doesn’t consider what the future might hold.
In a tale of revenge, trust, and perspective, it's easy to see how the truth can be twisted, even when you've never cried wolf.
