Anya continued her journey through the forest, her mind racing with thoughts of the strange symbol she had found by the stream. She was convinced that it held the key to the mystery surrounding Sarah and the house.
As she walked, she kept an eye out for any other clues. She noticed that the trees seemed to be arranged in a strange pattern, as if they were deliberately planted in a specific way. She wondered if Sarah might have something to do with it.
Suddenly, Anya heard a noise. She froze, her heart pounding in her chest. The noise was coming from behind a large oak tree. Slowly, Anya crept closer.
As she peered around the tree, she saw a small clearing. In the center of the clearing was a large, stone altar. On the altar was a strange device, pulsating with a eerie blue light.
Anya's eyes widened in shock. She had never seen anything like it before. She knew that she had to find out what it was.
Cautiously, Anya approached the altar. As she got closer, she noticed that the device was connected to a series of wires that ran underground. She wondered where the wires led.
Suddenly, a voice called out from behind her. Anya turned to see Sarah standing there, her face contorted with a sinister grin. "So, you found it," she said.
Anya's heart raced. She knew that Sarah had been watching her the whole time. She also knew that she was in great danger.
"What is that thing?" Anya asked, her voice trembling.
Sarah laughed. "It's a portal," she said. "A portal to another world."
Anya's eyes widened in disbelief. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"It's a world where I can rule," Sarah continued. "A world where I can have everything I've ever wanted."
Anya realized that Sarah was planning to use the portal to escape this world and create her own. She knew that she had to stop her.
"You won't get away with this," Anya said, her voice filled with determination.
Sarah smiled. "We'll see about that," she said.
With that, Sarah pressed a button on the device. The altar began to glow brighter and brighter, and a swirling vortex of energy appeared above it. Anya knew that she had to act fast.
She rushed forward and grabbed the device. With all her strength, she pulled it away from the altar. The vortex began to fade, and Sarah's face contorted with rage.
"You've ruined everything!" she screamed.
Anya didn't respond. She knew that she had to keep the device away from Sarah at all costs.
As Sarah lunged at her, Anya turned and ran. She knew that she had to get away from the altar before Sarah could activate it again.
As Anya fled into the forest, she heard Sarah's voice echoing behind her. "I'll find you, Anya," she said. "And when I do, you'll pay."
Anya didn't look back. She knew that she had to keep running, no matter what. She had stopped Sarah's plan, but she also knew that the danger was far from over.
