It was all a dream, I thought to myself as I went to bail out my brother Joseph from the Rankin County Jail. It had taken all the money I had, leaving my family and I homeless. Joseph then came up with an idea that we could stay at Brad's house, a friend he had met while in Simpson County Jail. We arrived at Brad's and everything seemed fine. His girlfriend Jamie offered to help with my daughter Rebecca and told us we could get some rest. But when I woke up, Becca was gone. Panicked, I ran outside and called for her. Jamie came out and scolded me, saying I couldn't have Becca because I wasn't watching her properly and she almost got run over. In a frenzy, I woke up my mom and told her what happened. The next day, Brad told Jamie to get along with me and she invited me to talk while she was bathing. But it turned out to be a trap, as she tried to attack me and missed. In self-defense, I fought back and even used my knives to protect myself. A group of 15 people came out to help Jamie, but her sister intervened and told us to leave or she would call the police. With my family in tow, we left quickly but they blocked our car with their vehicles, ready to jump me. In desperation, I revved up my SUV and they finally moved so we could escape. It was a chaotic and frightening experience, but thankfully it was all just a dream.
