Chapter 1. The dream
It was just a dream...
It dawned in the valley of beautiful flowers. The sun came out from behind the mountain in all its glory and smilingly cast its rays over the valley. The colorful flowers opened their petals wide and yawned sleepily. They began to whisper and greeting each other.
- Good morning. What are you doing today Snow White? said the Green Grasshopper.
- I am very well answered Snow White. Are you ready for the little horses that will come to play with you?
- Of course I'm ready. I can not wait. Especially the Kitsaki that runs up and down happily. Let's see what he will tell me today? Because yesterday he wanted to go into the forest, but he was afraid to go alone.
- I think he is a strong little horse, said Violetta confidently. He wants to grow up fast to conquer the world. And I believe he will succeed, she added confidently.
- Oh!!! Here it is!!! Call Chamomile. He comes galloping into our company.
All the flowers and grasses looked across the valley and saw Kitsaki gallop like a siphon and stop in front of them.
- Good morning, cried the little horse. what are you doing my friends??? Are you all ok???
- Good morning Kitsaki!!! answered the little flowers and the Green Grass. We are very well. How did you wake up today?
-I had a very beautiful dream. I traveled to the beautiful mountain pond. And it really was so beautiful there. It took me a long time to get there and I got tired on the way, but it was worth it, said Kitsaki. My God, how beautiful it was up there! But the route was also wonderful.
I started by going beside the stream, but opposite it. He was going down and I was going up. At one point I reached the waterfall and saw the water falling high from the rocks to the ground in front of me. What a beautiful sight. I couldn't stand it and went into the water, went through the waterfall and it was like it was raining very hard. I immediately cooled down and shook my mane.
- Was Kitsaki really a big waterfall? Asked the Wildflower.
- It seemed too big to me...
- Were any fish there? Little Daisy was curious to know.
- Of course he had. Some small and some bigger that were swirling in the waters of the river. And it seemed to me that I saw a little bear hunting to catch a little fish to eat...
-Wow! Teddy bear, huh? Was it big? Poppy asked.
-Big like me and a bit stronger it seemed to me.
-Weren't you afraid Kitsaki that he would attack you and want to eat you too? said the Wildflower.
- Of course not. Why should I be afraid? Besides, I'm faster than Teddy Bear. Never mind that he didn't care. All he cared about was catching the little fish and he didn't look at what was going on around him. Poor Little Bear must have been very hungry. I wanted to talk to him to tell me if the pond was far, but I saw that he was devoted to his purpose and I didn't want to interrupt and scare him with my sneeze. So, after sitting for ten minutes, quenching my thirst with water, and eating an apple that had fallen from the apple tree a little further on, I started my journey again with an appetite.
The truth is, I felt too strong to climb the mountain. I looked up and saw a path to take to start climbing. I shook my legs violently and took off in a somersault. It was a steep trail at first, for ten meters or so. Luckily I got through with the first one. Then the road continued on a slope full of small trees, pines, poplars, firs a little higher. It also had chestnuts, walnuts and skulls. Beautiful and tall trees that helped me with their shade not to get warm from the sun that started to burn with its rays.
-Many little trees were there? asked the Thistle.
-Enough I would say, like friends, friends from years...
-And then what did you do? Oregano said.
-As soon as I passed the trees I saw some rocks in front of me and there I had difficulty, I was a little scared. I looked hard to see where I could get through. So it was a spot that had smaller rocks, like steps. I went close to see if I can climb up from there. Because if I couldn't, my trip there would be wasted. I approached and saw that I could probably try to pass. I took the first step and climbed a meter higher. Then with careful steps I climbed a little higher to a bigger rock and fortunately after the mountain continued a small slope with fir and cypress trees. Then suddenly a little goat ran past me like a fool and soon other little goats arrived along with the shepherd and the dogs that were protecting them from the wolf. The shepherd played his flute calmly. The goats were squealing and eating leaves from the trees. I greeted them and continued on my way.
Then Mint asked: Did the little goats wear bells around their necks?
- of course they wore and it was heard all over the slope like a little cellar song and together with the shepherd's pipe, my soul was calmed by this beautiful hearing.
-I don't believe you saw the Wolf around there? Ivy said.
- Well, until that time no one had been seen.
Chapter 2. Climbing the mountain
I had already been on the mountain for quite some time and I was wondering how far the beautiful pond, that my mom had told me, was going to be….
I was a little tired here, but I didn't give up. I will definitely continue I told myself. I can't quit now. The pond will be near here. And I continued on my way.
A little further up I came across Mountain Tea and Bituni. Both were in bloom and the whole place smelled of musk.
-My cousins!! Mint said. I'm so glad you met them. They are my favorite cousins along with Chamomile.
- I love you too, cousin, said Chamomile, winking.
I saw a hill above and in the branches of the Fir an eagle was sitting. As soon as he saw me he spread his big wings and flew up. How proud he was... I admired him for a while and walked towards the hill. Arriving there the view was amazing and I saw the lake in front of me with its blue waters. How beautiful it was! I couldn't take my eyes off her.
All around were various trees, paths reached its shores and small fish were jumping here and there. Then I went down the hill to get near the lake. I didn't resist at all. I went straight into the blue waters of the lake and started swimming with the little fishes and ducks that were beyond.
I'm not sure how long it took me to get there, but I was definitely tired and the water did me a lot of good. After a few minutes I got out of the water and sat down to dry on the shore. I suddenly realized that I was hungry and I didn't know what to eat. I looked around to see what I could do to satisfy my hunger. Then the Hare appeared.
- Good evening, little horse, he told me. How did you end up here?
- Good evening to you too, Hare. I came to see the beautiful lake. Do you live near here?
- Yes, my nest is nearby. I live with my mom and dad. My brother got married and is in another nest now, but he is close to ours and we get together often.
-I envy you Hare for living in such a beautiful place, I told him.
- Come whenever you want then. Come to our nest and I'll introduce you to my family one day.
- Very gladly, I answered him. It is so beautiful here that I will tell my own parents to come up here and live.
-Seriously now Kitsaki? Did you say such a thing? And where will you leave us? Anemone said.
-Don't be sad, Anemone. It was an idea. My folks may not want to leave. Besides, now that I know the way, I will come every day to see you. You are my favorite friends.
- We love you so much Kitsaki, said all the little flowers together. We don't want to lose you.
Kitsaki was very moved when he heard these words from his friends.
-I love you too!!! He giggled happily and did a big jump.
- Then what happened? Tell us below said Trivoli.
Chapter 3: angry dad
After you say guys, the Hare left because his parents were waiting him for dinner. I too remembered my hunger again and got up to look for something to eat. I found some nice wild strawberries and blackberries, a wild pear tree and happily started eating these delicious fruits. I didn't have time to eat as much as I wanted and suddenly I hear footsteps and what do I see!!! My dad and his friends popped off the hill and galloped down towards me. I was glad to see them, but they were angry, especially my dad.
-Kitsaki what are you doing here? He told me in his booming voice.
-I came to see the pond dad. You see how beautiful she is. Mom was right after all.
-And who did you ask and come up here alone? He continued.
-No one I said hesitantly, realizing that I had made a mistake to come alone and even without telling anyone.
- Your mom has gone crazy with her anxiety that you haven't been seen since the morning you left. I took my friends and we started looking for you on all the slopes and meadows of the mountain. Then I thought: he has taste to climb the lake…. And we came to look here too. And here you are!!! Did you understand what you did Kitsaki?
You left without notifying any of us and we went crazy with our anxiety that something bad had happened to you.
- I'm sorry, dad. I will never do it again. It was my fault. Next time I'll let you where I'm going and we'll go on long walks together.
- That's what you’ll do. Come on, let's go to mom's. She will be mad with anxiety until she sees that you are all right.
- Let's go, father, I said regretting my recklessness.
I turned and looked at the pond once again, impressed by the colors and the beauty of nature.
We immediately started our way back. We climbed the hill and in the distance that was the big forest we heard the voices of the wolves.
-Are you listening; My father told me. The Wolves. If you were alone and unprotected they would attack you and you wouldn't get away with it... you would be a nice snack for them.
I thought for a while about the image of being there alone and the wolves coming at me hungry and I scared children. I was very scared. How wrong I was to go so far alone into the wastes.
- Sorry, Dad. I realized my recklessness. The howls of wolves are very frightening, I said fearfully.
We continued on our way. A little further on, the sly fox with its tufted tail sped by. And suddenly a herd of wild boars passes by us, leaving marks on the ground and making loud screams that I have never heard before. I was a little scared there too, but my father was next to me so I got over it quickly.
-Did you see Kitsaki the wild boars? A friend of my father, Psarris, told me. You saw how fast they run, and if you don't pay attention, they will hit you.
I nodded my head in agreement with him.
Chapter 4: return to the valley
We had descended quite low and reached the falls. We passed through them to quench our thirst a little. Then we arrived next to the small river where I had started my journey. Little sheep had gathered on its banks and were drinking water. The little dogs were resting in the shade of the trees and the shepherd was eating his food sitting on a large stone.
We continued on our way and after a while a strong wind picked up and within five minutes it started to rain. We started galloping to quickly reach our home. The rain was dancing in the stream and getting stronger. Until lightning and thunder started. And there I scared a little with the noise of the thunder. We were undeterred and continued to gallop.
At one point our valley came into view and I saw you all happily chatting and sharing your news. The time had already passed and the small moon projected in the sky together with all the little stars. We greeted you and continued home.
-And why didn't you stop to tell us how you got on? Nettle asked nervously.
-I couldn't stop my Nettle. My father would argue with me. I had already made a huge mistake and had no room to do whatever I wanted. Forgive me guys.
-We understand Kitsaki. Said the Blueberry.
-Did you regret what you did? Tinkerbell asked.
-Of course Bell and I regretted it. I learned my lesson. I will be very careful from now on.
And then what happened once you got home? What did your mom say? asked the Holly.
I'll tell you guys right away. We had arrived outside our house and said goodnight to my dad's friends, who thanked them for helping him find me and coming such a long way with him. They said that's what good friends do and not to even talk about it.
We entered the yard of the house and prepared to enter our house when the Owl was heard to greet us.
-Welcome, she said. And good rest.
-Welcome, we found you, Owl, said my father. Good night to you too.
Chapter 5: In Mom's Arms
My mom overheard our conversations with the Owl and ran out into the yard. As soon as she saw me, she immediately hugged me and hugged me very tightly.
-My boy, she said, where have you been all day? I was very worried about you.
- Mom, I went to see the beautiful pond you told me about one day. I know I was wrong and I won't do it again. I promise you, my mother, I said regretfully and I burst into tears.
Mom started crying too and dad urged us to go inside before we caught a cold.
We entered our warm little house, mom made us eat the most delicious food I had ever eaten, and then I went to my bed to rest because I really had a long and hard day. I said goodnight to my parents and went to my room. I covered myself with my beautiful quilt and fell asleep sweetly until the next morning.
Next morning i thought about what I had done the day before and promised that I would be a good boy and not worry my folks so recklessly again by rushing to meet the world.
-Wow, what a beautiful dream you had Kitsaki!!! Little Thyme said admiringly.
-It was really very beautiful and alive. As if I had really come all this way. And as you can understand, I got ideas to go to the lake.
- I don't believe you're doing anything stupid? Angelic said.
- It would be a big fool, added the Wild Rose.
-Of course not. I'm not that dumb to pull a prank like that. But I will tell my parents to go together one day. I may be in a hurry to grow up and become strong, but I don't want to upset my people, and I don't want to put them in danger either.
-How about we sing a song together now???
- Yes. The little flowers and the Green Grass answered with one voice.
And they all began to sing happily together, and the bees of the beautiful valley joined them and fell silent in the little song...
A nice butterfly
A nice butterfly
A nice butterfly
In a garden once
She flaunts and struts
Her blue wings
Glowing red splashes
Glowing red splashes
Glowing red splashes
On her blue wings
She turns all the time
She turns all the time
She turns all the time
And the flowers greets
When does she sits at one
When does she leaves and fly?
When winter comes
When winter comes
When winter comes
She falls down and dies
And when summer comes
She comes alive and flies
And so their day passed beautifully with songs and happy voices....
