Amanda Wright, was a former high school teacher who loves encouraging her students to be bold in all things and to come out, clean to the whole community without fear or prejudice. She has always been keen on her students, being truthful and sincere to everyone around them, until she got into trouble.

Charlotte Anderson, a student in Amanda’s class was discovered by Amanda to be a lover of guy’s style. When she was confronted, Amanda realized that Charlotte wanted to be a man, not a lady.

“ Okay, class. That’s all for this morning, I will be expecting you all here once lunch time is over. Charlotte, can you please stay behind” said Amanda as the students began to troop out of the classroom into he hallway. She concluded in her mind, to have a conversation with Charlotte, during the lunch break, to get some truth from her 

“ Here, I am. Have I done anything wrong?” asked Charlotte as she stood with her hands folded across her chest, rolling her eyes.

“ No, you are perfectly clean. I have nothing against you. You can have your sit, I just want to have a word with you” replied Amanda, as she looked at Charlotte from her head to her shoes. Three days ago, Charlotte emerged in school, with her long , thick, brown hair shaved. She came to school, in one of the popular guy’s style, walking majestically with her hands deep in the pocket of her black pants.  

“Okay, ma’am. Make it fast, I have things to do” said Charlotte, as she tucked her hands into her pants pocket again.

“ I just wanted to know if you have any interest in coming out as a guy, instead of a lady”. Asked Amanda. Immediately, her face changed and she calmed down.

“ Why did you ask? I’m a lady, why will I want to be a man?” retorted Charlotte

“ I’ve noticed the way you dressed, Charlotte. You were not like this two years ago, when you used to dress like a pretty gentle lady with your lashes, hail and nails, properly done. Now, you barely wear anything that belongs to the ladies. 

You dress more in shorts, shirts, pants and even made your hair into a guy’s style. Even your way of walking, is now different. You have resorted to using pads, on your breast, so they will be flattened” said Amanda.

“ Well, I like guy’s stuffs. I want to be a trans gender” confessed Charlotte.

“ Wow. That’s amazing. I know living as a lady could be pretty expensive and difficult at times. I’m proud of what you have decided to become. You don’t have to fear anyone. Just be you” encouraged Amanda.

“ But, my parents won’t hear of this. They are totally against it, cause I heard them condemning a celebrity for becoming a transgender. I’m scared to let them know of my choice. Even when I chose to shave my hair, they were strongly against my decision. Now, what do you think they will do when they come to know that I want to be a boy?” asked Charlotte as she cleaned the tears streaming down her face.

“ I understand you. This is a tough time and if you will overcome this, you need to be strong to face your parents and let them know where you stand. Okay? I will always support you, Charlotte” Amanda 

“ Thanks ma’am. I really appreciate you. When I get home today, I will inform my parents and I hope they don’t flare up” said Charlotte.

Later in the day, after school, Charlotte walked in on her parents watching the news of another celebrity who just underwent surgery to become a lady. At that moment, she knew she had to speak now or never. Remembering her teacher’s words, she summoned up courage to inform her parents of her stand.

“ Mum, Dad, I have something to say to you. There’s something I’ve been hiding from you” she said

“ What’s it, darling? Is anyone bothering you in school?” asked her mum.

“ No mum. It’s nothing like that. It’s just that I want you to know that I’m tired of living like a lady. I don’t want to be addressed as a lady, dad. I feel like a man, and I want to be one. I am a transgender, that’s why I shaved my hair and my dressing too, changed” Charlotte said boldly.


“ Who has been teaching you all this nonsense? What gave you the confidence in the first place?” asked her father, angrily.

“ No one, dad. I’ve been taught by my teacher to be proud of who I want to be. My teacher encouraged me to speak up and not fear anyone “ said Charlotte.

“ So, this is what your teaching have been teaching you in school? That is so out of line, I’m going to get her arrested, this moment” added her mother.

“ No, mum. Don’t do that, she is not to be blamed” protested Charlotte

Despite her pleas not to get her teacher arrested, Charlotte’s mum went ahead to call the local police.  She accused Amanda of teaching her innocent daughter things that were not supposed to be heard from a teacher. She told the cops that Amanda forced her daughter to be a transgender and demanded for her immediate arrest.


Amanda was still busy in school, preparing for the next day, when the principal summoned her into his office. Without fear of anything, she walked briskly to the principal’s office, just he requested. But was shocked to meet two cops, sitting in front of the principal in his office.

“ Mr. Maxwell, you called for me” said Amanda with a smile as she steeped into the principal’s office. She bowed slightly to the officers, acknowledging their presence before facing the principal.

“Such an innocent face, full of bad intentions” said Mr. Maxwell to Amanda as she entered.
