Suddenly, he passed out; throughout the night, he dreamed something bizarre. He was standing on what seemed to be a broken-down stage, but in front of him was an abandoned tunnel. He walked off the stage and started down the deserted rusty tracks. He discovered a light over yonder and followed it. It took him to a place he felt he had once been before, but he was not sure. Suddenly, he awoke from his slumber.
He discovered cloth on the floor, the glass from the night before was gone, he was bandaged on the head, and inexplicably enough, the mirror frame changed. He got up and went to check the mirror; the writing appeared to be the same but a little clearer. “SHE’S OKAY; YOU WILL BE TOO” was the inscription on it. Mortified, he ran down the hall; this time, though, everything in the rooms were silent. Not thinking about it, he ran faster to go ask the man up front what the mirror frame was about. The man told him, “Will, sonny, that’s what I was trying to warn you about. That mirror tells you what you wanted to know; it’s telling you that she’s okay.”
“Why is that a bad thing?” he had asked.
“Will, did you not read the rest?”
“Why yes, but I don’t understand!”
“William,” the man continued, “Now hold on, what's this? You have been calling me Will the whole time”
William noticed something behind the man on the end table; it was a picture of Will and his lost love, a tall, curvy, beautiful redhead.
“Can I see that?” Will continued
The man grabbed the picture and gave it to him. Will began to cry, missing her. The man went to the radio and turned it on; the song “Faithfully” by Journey began to play. Will cried harder; this was his and his lost loves song, saying they would be together forever. In gradual phases, everything softly faded except the song. He heard the man say softly to Will, “Welcome home, son.”
Suddenly, everything went dark.
“William! Will wake up!” It was a girl’s angelic voice calling, and in the background the song still played. He recognized that angelic voice; it was his lost love. He woke up and found her holding onto his hand, kneeling beside him on the ground. He looked around to see deliciously ripe peach and pear trees, glorious and wonderfully fragrant white peonies, and a beautifully delicate rose bush with vivacious red roses. She was stroking his brown hair and seeing his beautiful green eyes looking into hers. He felt like he was in Heaven, being surrounded by his angelic love and all the beautiful things around him.
“Welcome home, love,” she said.
“What happened?” he asked.
“You tell me,” she giggled.
“Oh love! It was horrible; I had this dream that I lost you.”
“Well, love, that was only a nightmare. You’re with me now; let's go; we're going to be late!”
“Late to where?” he asked confused.
“To get married.” She pointed to the garden with a soft grin across her face. Will smiled, knowing they would truly be together forever in Heaven.
