The alarm wasn't supposed to go off yet, but then again, good help is so hard to find these days. The plan was working perfectly until now, so perhaps it's time to improvise, and we at least have a chance to get out alive. Security will be here any minute, so staying here isn't going to last long. I have to make a break for it, even if it means leaving Danny behind. After all, it's his fault the alarm went off this soon.

The last job went much smoother. There was only one hitch, and thankfully, the bag was found before the cochise managed to track it down. The haul was about $100,000 in precious gems, and our fences have a way of disposing of such wares overnight. To think, people actually claim that crime doesn't pay.

Once I found my opening, I made my dash towards the planned exit door. Wearing the uniform of the guards would buy me just enough time to get there as long as the Head of Security did not see me. After all, he would surely recognize that I'm not actually a part of the staff. Within four minutes, I made my way to the intended hallway, and freedom was in sight.

It was only then that my worst fears were realized. The swarm of armed officers waiting outside the door, every one of them pointing their standard issue firearms directly at me.’This was a setup’, I told myself. There was no way they knew exactly where I would be unless they had a man on the inside. I told myself that it had to be the work of Danny. Why else would the alarm have failed at the literal worst possible time?

Deciding it wasn't worth trying to run, I put my hands behind my head and allowed the officers to freely search me for weapons. I was unarmed, as I did not think this was going to be that kind of job. Once they cleared me, I was taken to the back of a vehicle and the door was closed behind me. Then the officer asked me the usual questions, but I insisted that I speak with an attorney first.

I found it strange that the officer told me that it wouldn't matter, but I shrugged it off and waited for the officer to take me to the station. Just before we made our way around the corner, I caught a glimpse of the client for the job we just notched. Then it hit me, and I couldn't believe i didn't recognize him before.

Years ago, my father made a deal with some bad men, and that's about when my life turned completely upside down. Seeing the client in street clothes rather than the business suit he was wearing brought all the memories back. This was the man that shot my father for failing to complete a hit. Figures, all these years later I take a job for the man who put my father in the dirt, and he came back to punish me for the sins of my fathers past. Just. My. Luck…
