She felt the tell-tale human nervousness deep in her center.

"Do we always feel it...here?" She gestured to her midsection. "The nervousness?"

"Oh yes," Blake reassured. "That's very normal."

"Such weird sensations," She smiled. "but I love them. That's the right way to use that word, isn't it?"

"Well, sure," Blake began. "If you really like something, you know? If you like it so much that 'like' doesn't seem strong enough," He wasn't sure he was making sense.

"Yes, I thought so. Kind of like how I feel about you," Vallette was smiling.

"I should hope that you'd like me after all this time," Blake found himself blushing.

"No, Blake. I like you more than 'like'. It is obvious that my feelings toward you are actually feelings of love," She was still smiling, albeit a bit uneasily as she was now doubting whether she was stating her feelings correctly.

"Wait, are you saying what I think you're saying?" Blake was no longer blushing; instead, his face had gone pale as he struggled to understand what he was hearing.

"Of course, Blake! Is that wrong?" Now Vallette had gone a little pale. Her sympathetic nervous system was designed to act exactly like that of a natural-born human with the exact same outward responses.

"It's not wrong at all," he responded softly.

Blake stepped in closer once more and gently touched her cheek. She was so warm to the touch.

"I have felt the same way about you for a long time now. I just thought it was a little silly before," he chuckled.

"but now, it's...different." Blake started to lean in for what would be their first kiss.

In all the time that 975 had lived in Blake's home, he had never touched her in any sort of inappropriate way.

While some humans chose to act on their more amorous feelings with their androids, Blake never did, although he had always seen her as beautiful. And desirable.

Vallette's electro-cardio system sped up causing her respiration to increase rapidly.

"This is normal too?" Her breathing began to quicken.

"Very," Blake smiled, leaning in.

Just then, sirens from the outside began blaring, clearly breaking the mood. The hour was almost up.

"What the--" Blake started to walk toward the window.

"It's okay," Vallette grabbed his arm. "This is just how it begins."

"Begins?" Blake was pale again.

"Trust me on this, Blake." She gently pulled him closer. "I'm going to need you to shelter in place, in the panic room."

Before Blake could respond, Vallette pulled him the rest of the way in and kissed him in a way she had only ever seen in the movies.

She must have been doing it right as Blake responded in kind. He moved his hands to her long, silky hair. Real hair. Not synthetic in any way.

"I love you, Blake," Vallette whispered as she broke the embrace first.

Before he could respond, Vallette pushed him out the nearby door and quickly locked it. Vallettes now possessed unrivaled physical strength.

"Bring it on," She said aloud, walking to the window while tying her hair back.

"bitches." Vallette finished her sentence and then unlocked the window.
