“She couldn’t remember how she got here,”

The smell of roses, daisies, and lavender, with a hint of pine. Mixed with fresh flowing spring water close by. The essence of a beautiful garden fills her nose.

She squeezed her eyes tight against the brightness of the sun. The ringing in her ears mellowed into a beautiful harmony of singing birds, with a light breeze through the trees. A roaring pride of lions on key, communicating with each other off in the distance.

She felt no fear. Her hands felt grass. Her face felt warm from the sun and cool from the breeze.

In her chest she felt a beat and a pulse in her veins. Thump. Thump. There was nothing but joy and peace.

Squinting her eyes, open then shut.

Open then shut. Adjusting them to her surroundings.

She took it all in. The very first view of her new world was indescribable. She inhaled deep.

Not knowing exactly what she was feeling, seeing, or hearing. She was in a state of bliss. Not knowing confusion, she couldn’t feel it.

She looked onto the scene around. Then at herself. Her hands had five fingers. Yet she didn’t know exactly what they were, nor what they were use for.

Naturally she pulled her legs underneath herself, and found herself using those two hands to push herself up.

Her legs weren’t quite awake, so they gave out. She fell back to the ground. Which wasn’t far but there was no pain.

Only laughter.
