The story follows Jennifer and her partner, both haunted by trauma and loss, who volunteer for a mysterious experiment in the hope of finding new meaning in their lives. As their bond helps them heal, they are blindsided by the true nature of the experiment: Jennifer's partner will have all his memories—and their shared love—erased and replaced, forcing Jennifer to work alongside him as a stranger.
