Hi! I am Anne Hendricks and I am a writer in North Mississippi.
I taught for over twenty years as a school librarian. With a background in journalism and teaching, I have written two novels in contemporary romantic fiction, planning its sequel and publishing my first volume of poetry, Revelry and Reflections.
I am on Goodreads as Anne Hendricks. I am a huge history buff - my areas of interest are American (Civil War, American Revolution, Workers Rights, Immigrant history, and especially, the 20th century. I am a Gen Xer, so my big memories are the VietNam War, the Challenger Tragedy, and Princess Diana - oh I just adored her!
I enjoy short stories, because I have taught the best of the best as an English teacher, it is important where young people can learn our history in all narratives of the American Experience. My favorite short story authors include Edgar Allan Poe, William Faulkner, James Baldwin, Tennessee Williams, Nalo Hopkinson (OH MY GOD, READ HER!), Shirley Jackson and Flannery O'Connor. Flannery and I have something in common: Georgians!
I enjoy good pork chops, I have five Boston terriers (hello dog lovers!), a husband (love of my life - you can find love again!), and my son is grown. I attended Mercer for my BA in journalism and my M.Ed. in library media. I hate cooking, but I'll eat. Hit me up for gluten free recipes, okay?
Let's write! I do children's stories, slow burn romances, historical fiction, and I am excited to network here - both as a librarian and as a writer.
