She Blinked First. by Srhltn23

When Susan sees the girl in the photo on her wall blink, she blames exhaustion. But the shadowy figure that follows, and the escalating episodes of terror that ensue, are harder to dismiss. The police find no evidence of an intruder, and with each frantic call, their skepticism grows. Friends and family grow concerned, but no one sees what Susan sees. As her mental state deteriorates and the line between reality and delusion blurs, Susan loses all credibility, until the night she's found bloodied and broken in her flat.

Everyone assumes Susan is losing her mind. But something is watching. And it only moves when she blinks.

Demons Lie by Eschipp

The girl in the photo on her wall blinked. She was a rather nice looking girl, really. Her hair was long and silver, glowing in a light that shone from far outside of the picture frame. She had the most beautiful deep green eyes, and freckles scattered her nose. She had a sweet smile.

“It’s too bad,” thought the woman outside of the photo, staring at it from only a few paces away. “It really is too bad that such beauty has gone to waste.”

The Gilded Frame by L_I_Brarian

The girl in the photo on her wall blinked. Ava froze mid-step, sloshing tea across the carpet. Her eyes locked on the frame. The image looked the same: rusted gold trim, a colourful yet faded garden, a swing dangling from nowhere. And the girl, maybe eight, with porcelain skin, green eyes, a dirty pinkish-red dress, and corkscrew curls.

Do You Remember, Martha? by na1ashajuma

Martha lives in a quiet room, surrounded by fading memories and the muted passage of time. Mirrors have long been removed from her walls—not to conceal her face, but to shield her from the pain of seeing what she no longer recognizes. On the wall hangs a faded photograph of a young girl, smiling in a golden field. When, one evening, the girl blinks and smiles back, Martha is drawn into a journey through the fragile threads of memory.
