Novelo Rectangle

It was just a nightmare or was it? The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it wasn't a nightmare. You see one night at my friends house I was getting ready for bed, the room was average and put together nicely, I took a look outside from the window that faced the woods,the eerie silence of the night was only amplified by the rustling of leaves and the creaking of branches. The trees that loomed over each other seemed to have a life of their own, swaying with an otherworldly energy. Their twisted and gnarled forms cast ominous shadows on the forest floor, making it impossible to distinguish between what was real and what was a mere trick of the mind. The darkness seemed to play with my senses, showing every shadow in exaggerated proportions. I shrugged then locked the window and shut the drapes. I laid down on the firm mattress and all I can remember was that the sheets were flat, smooth and cool which felt nice against my tired body. Now this is where it gets crazy because I don't remember falling asleep. Before you know it, I was at the bottom of the bed! My knees were on the floor, my palms were spread out and I was under the blanket. I quickly crawled my way back up to my pillow and the closet door was open, I don't know what it was butI couldn't take my eyes off the closet. There was something in that closet, something dark and sinister that seemed to be calling out to me. I could feel a chill run down my spine, suddenly, a strong force tugged at my foot, trying to pull me towards the closet. I screamed and struggled against it, desperately trying to break free from its grasp. In that moment, I knew without a doubt that there was something in that closet trying to pull me in, and I was terrified of what would happen if it succeeded. My eyes wide open in shock as I desperately tried to resist the force pulling me towards the dark closet. It felt like an invisible hand was trying to drag me into the dark and unknown depths of hell. My heart was racing and my mind was filled with terrifying thoughts. With all my strength, I tried to fight against the pull, but it was no use. The force was too strong and it lifted my body off the bed and towards the closet. Every inch closer to the closet filled me with fear and dread. What awaited me in there? Was it a demon? But then I woke up, was I having an occurring dream inside a dream? I crawled back up to my pillow again and got out of bed, my window and curtain were open. "What the hell" I said out loud. I quickly walked out to the living room and saw the front door open "What is going on?!" I screamed as I sat down, I looked at my legs, there were welts, scratches and red marks around my ankle. Needless to say I got my stuff and never went back.
