Synopsis
Louie Gill is at a crossroads — personally lost, professionally adrift, and searching for something to give his life meaning. When a woman is kidnapped in Dublin under mysterious circumstances, Louie becomes obsessed with the case, much to the irritation of the Gardaí. With no real qualifications beyond a sharp instinct and an inquisitive personality, he decides to open his own detective agency — part reinvention, part escape.
As he throws himself into the case, Louie finds unlikely help in Emma, a quick-witted friend whom he meets at a party and who soon becomes his assistant. But his impulsive new venture doesn’t sit well with his fiancée, Gráinne, and as the investigation deepens, Louie’s personal life begins to unravel.
Meanwhile, Detective Steph Reilly is under pressure in her first major assignment. The missing woman’s case has stalled, and time is running out. As frustration builds, Steph considers unorthodox help — and Louie might just be the wild card she needs. Together, they follow a trail of half-truths, hidden motives, and unsettling revelations, where even the victim’s husband may be hiding secrets.
