When she woke up, there were voicemails from a stranger. They got angrier and angrier, people screaming for help in the background. Promises of death, torture, and even worse, being fired from my current position at the university. Cold sweat was running down her back, she couldn’t stop shaking, couldn’t stop her brain from listening over and over again to the voicemails, trying to understand who they were. She did not know the people they were talking about, and yet the thought of ignoring those screams was against her being. She studied people for a long time. She studied killers, kidnappers. She studied the worst of their kinds, and this voice.. This voice was kind. Not like them. Maybe, just maybe, it was a prank. She could let a few hours get by, right? She could focus on my work for now, just a few hours. When she finished, there were new voicemails from the same number. This time, no angry voice, no screaming. Silence and then the kind of laughing that made her jump and throw her phone against the wall. Something, someone, was playing with her, and they were definitely winning. She tried again, with another voicemail, this time they spoke so softly, as if they wanted to record a lullaby. A lullaby describing in detail how they watched her, wanted her, loved her, and will kill her. She knew she had to go to the police but this mystery was calling something deep inside of her, something dark and scary. Something she made sure never to look at. Two days later, she woke up with one one voicemail. You will never be remembered. The problem with the voicemail was that it was true. She had no one. No parents, no siblings, no relatives, no animals even. She was alone, and nobody will remember her. Even at the university, she kept to herself, except for the occasional lunch. Her time was coming to an end, and yet she never felt more alive. She knew what she needed to do, she knew who the person speaking was now. Oh, how they knew each other. They were three in one, and they loved her so deeply they left her. And she would let them kill her. The morning after, opening her eyes, they were there, laying down in her bed, eyes wide open. Ice-cold eyes that shined with pure longing. Whether for what will be or for what was. She smiled at them, tracing softly their jaw, enjoying this moment, this last one.&nbsp; “I loved you, I love you, I will always love you, all of you.” these the last words she spoke in her life. She spoke to them all. They didn't answer with words, but with a swift movement, the sharp knife hidden went right through her, letting her die with a smile.They cried over her, for hours on end, until it became dark outside, and then left her corpse behind them once again.
