"Thank you," Morghan said to Mackenzie as she dusted herself off.
"Don't mention it." Mackenzie checked out Morghan's face. "Well, you're not bruised on your face. You know how to cover up at least. That's not gonna be enough. Gonna eventually have to shoot some fists back at these girls. What they got against you anyways? You've been here like 2 seconds."
Morghan shrugged and rubbed the back of her head."I don't know."
"Oh, ok. Well, I'll see you around, champ," Mackenzie walked off.
Morghan looked around and noticed that she was the only person around. The attack on her happened in the back of the school.
"My reality keeps bending. It's like I'm in another world sometimes. Why? I cannot shake the fire. I don't understand why I'm the only one who survived." She thought to herself as she walked home.
"Good! Mom and Dad are still at work. I can go wash up so they won't see how dirty I am."
She got in the shower and began to run hot water over her face and hair. She closed her eyes and relaxed. She noticed the water started to feel thicker. Morghan screamed once she noticed that blood was coming from the shower head. She was covered in blood. She hurried up and rushed out of the shower. She was met with a
dark figure staring at her. It was a young woman who looked identical to Morghan. The young woman had blood tears running from her eyes and blood running from her mouth. She was naked, covered in brimstone and ashes as if she had just stepped out of a fire.
She stretched her hands out to Morghan. "We can all be together Morghan...-
Come with us. He will not forsake you. He only wants what's best for you. What's best for all of us." She sounded similar to how Mrs. Abigail sounded. Deep male voice alongside a high-pitched female voice talking in unison.
"Get away from me! Please! Just....just leave me alone! I don't know what you want from me!" Morghan was terrified. She backed up as the girl got closer to her.
"Play with fire, you burn. Your ashes are mine to yearn."
"Play with fire, you burn. Your ashes are mine to yearn."
"Play with fire, you burn. Your ashes are mine to yearn."
The girl launched towards Morghan.
Morghan backed up and tripped over the side of the bathtub, falling into the wall and hitting her head hard. She was knocked unconscious.
Her mom and dad returned home roughly around the same time, about an hour later.
"Morghan! We brought you some food!" Her mom shouted from downstairs upon entering the house.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee looked at each other when they got no response.
"You think she's taking a nap?" Mr. Lee asked.
"I'll go check on her," Mrs. Lee responded.
She went upstairs and knocked on Morghan's door before opening it. When she didn't see Morghan in her bed, she went into the bathroom.
"Morghan!!" She quickly ran to her daughter's aid.
"John! John! Get up here now!" She called for her husband.
John ran up the stairs quickly. "No! What happened?"
"I don't know! I just found her like this!" Morghan's mom was in full panic.
He checked her pulse. "She's still breathing. She must have hit her head pretty hard and knocked herself out."
You want me to call an ambulance?" Mrs. Lee asked.
"No, no. We can take her. The police here move like they are two sticks in the mud and both are up their asses.
Help me get her up," John gently moved his daughter.
They got her up and carried her downstairs and put her in the backseat of John's truck. Catherine sat back there with her so the unconscious Morghan could have support on the drive to the hospital.
"Is this the one?" Morghan heard one doctor ask another.
"Yes. She hit her head...Now we have her right where we want her. Hahahaha," she could hear the two doctors' conversation. Her vision was blurry. She only saw in black and white. She tried to speak but she could not. She could not scream. She was strapped to the table. She watched as these doctors with scary faces, covered in brimstone and ashes, held up big butcher knives.
Morghan squirmed and squirmed, trying to get away. She couldn't escape.
They began stabbing her. One by one. The thick blades entered her arms, legs, and stomach. Piercing through her organs, arteries, and veins. She was a bloody mess.
Morghan screamed and got off of the table, swinging and hitting the doctors.
"Whoa, whoa! We have a fighter," one doctor said as he covered up to keep from getting hit. Morghan was out of control and screaming, blindly swinging at anything and everybody that moved.
"Morghan! Stop!" John grabbed her and held her tight. "Morghan, baby. It's me! It's daddy. It's ok. I got you!"
"Daddy?" Morghan burst into tears and hugged her dad back.
He hugged her tight and rubbed her head. "You're ok. It's ok."
Catherine put on a concerned smile as she cried and locked eyes with her husband. They both knew something was very wrong.
