Steve McDonald was born in Papakura, South Auckland, New Zealand in 1963. He attended Papakura High School and pursued higher education at Lincoln University, Dunedin Teachers College, the University of Otago, and the University of Auckland, ultimately earning a Master of Professional Studies in Education. Over the past 31 years, he has dedicated himself to teaching across various levels of education, including primary, intermediate, secondary, and tertiary institutions. While his primary qualification is in physical and health education, he has demonstrated versatility by teaching across the curriculum. Currently residing in Taupo, New Zealand, Steve shares his life with his wife Julie and their cat Max. He has a passion for writing, community and people.
