Synopsis
In a small, eerie town, Sophie Wilson inherits an old house from her great aunt, but her new home quickly turns into a nightmare. One night, a haunting photograph of a girl that resembles her blinks, triggering a series of terrifying events. When a muddy, grotesque figure—bearing a striking resemblance to a man she buried after a violent altercation—comes knocking at her door, Sophie is thrust into a chilling confrontation with her past. Struggling with her sanity and plagued by visions, Sophie finds herself questioning reality as she experiences strange whispers emanating from the photograph. Although she tries to confide in her best friend, Larissa, the dark truth remains hidden—the man she buried was no ordinary victim, and Sophie’s violent actions linger like a shadow over her life. As the boundaries between reality and illusion blur, Sophie must confront her own guilt and the supernatural forces at play in the house. With her mental state deteriorating, and the haunting past refusing to let her go, she grapples with the unsettling question: is she truly alone, or is something sinister still lurking just beneath the surface?

About Author
Elowen Faye
My name is Elowen F. Nichols. I typically write poetry, and short stories that range from horror, thriller, magical realism/urban fantasy, supernatural, and paranormal. I'm a big fan of the macabre. I don't have much experience when it comes to published works or awards but I've been writing since I was a teen. It's always been something I'm passionate about. My dream is to have my shorter works published on sites like this and once I hone my skills I want to write a book under one of the aforementioned genres and have it published My writing is typically fueled by the human condition. The deep emotional turmoil that comes out in the characters and their contradictory experiences, circumstances and characteristics.
