Deadly Encounter&nbsp; The man she buried is back and he’s knocking on the window on the deck. The curtains are drawn, but they’re sheer with each step that he moves, his shadow can be seen. She tries to be as quiet as possible. She makes her way to the bedroom and picks up her cell phone, but the storm is interfering with the service. She tries the landline, but he has cut the wires. As the rain comes down harder and harder, the thunder follows cracks of lightning light up the deck periodically giving her just a glimpse of him still standing there. Her heart races. “ open the door.”, he says in a deep raspy voice. “ I promise I won’t hurt you.” She knows that if she doesn’t escape this time, he will kill her. Three years ago, she thought this nightmare was over as he laid on the ground not moving. She slowly dug the grave. The night could’ve gone so much differently. She just wanted to go out with her friends and have a few drinks. He tried so hard to buy each of them a drink and they just weren’t interested. They didn’t see him. Follow them when they left the bar as each of them said their goodbyes, one by one they got in their cars and drove off in different directions. For some reason, though he followed her. She saw the car behind her. I didn’t think anything of it until it started getting closer and swerving she panicked as he came up alongside of her. She jerked the wheel and hit the front corner of his car. He spun out and she sped off. “ whew… oh my God he was trying to kill me” she thought to herself. She was only 15 minutes from home, but a storm was coming in and it was coming in fast. The wind was whipping Trelis or flying around. The roads are getting nasty. She glanced up to look at the rearview mirror and all of a sudden there was headlights right behind her. “ oh no.”, she said.&nbsp;He’s back &amp; he’s pissed off now”.&nbsp;She’s so close to home. Is she going to make it? Or is he going to run her off the road such a desolate area nobody would find her car for days. All sorts of scenarios are running through her head. She just should’ve let him buy her a drink. She knows she has one chance and one chance only to get away from him so she does the unthinkable. She slows down, let him get alongside of her and quickly jerks the wheel to the left, pushing his car into the guard rail. The horn is continuously going, and if she’s driving off, it gets fainter and fainter. The car is not moving. “Is he dead” she says? She slows down and just watches. There’s no movement. There’s no houses for miles either way in such a desolate area. It will be a while before another car passes by. She decides to turn back around earlier today. She went shopping at the local hardware store to pick up a few things for her garden. She had a shovel in the back. She thought “ if I bury him, People will just think he ran off.” She pulls over and turns the car off. She keeps looking over her shoulder. He’s not moving. He has to be dead. She knows if she calls the police she can get in trouble for hitting his vehicle, even though he was chasing her she has to get rid of the body. That’s the only option. She digs and digs and digs. Finally the hole is big enough. She puts the shovel down. She slowly walks over to his driver side. He’s still not moving. She pokes him. Nothing. She shoves his shoulder still nothing. She opens the driver side door and he falls out into her arms. She dragged him over to the hole and pushes him in. She grabs the shovel and starts covering him up with the dirt as fast as she can, afraid that, maybe he’s not dead, maybe he’s just unconscious. She’s scared that he might wake up and pop out of the dirt she digs and she digs and she digs covering the hole finally, it’s completely covered. She looks around. waits a few minutes.” Ok “ she says. “ this night never happened.” She throws the shovel in the back and gets in her car as she drives off. She’s still looking in her rearview mirror. She’s almost home. The storm is starting to let up. It’s almost daybreak. Somebody’s bound to find the car soon she has to get off the road. She has to get home. Off to the left, she could see the sun starting to rise often in the distance she sees a car coming. “ he’s gonna see that car and he’s gonna call the police. I’ve gotta get off the road.” She says to herself. She knows that as soon as that car sees the abandoned car in the guard rail that’s when the police will be called. She tells herself” 2 people can keep a secret if one of them is dead”. As the years pass the fear that she felt subsides she never talks about it. She never tells anybody about it. It says if it never happened. Until tonight. She’s driven past that corner so many times grass has grown over the grave. The guard rail has been replaced. “How did he get out?” “ how did he know where I lived?” “ he has had years to think about his revenge.” She knows that one of them is going to die tonight and it’s not going to be her. She runs down to the basement. She knows that metal rods are conductors of electricity.. if she can put a couple on the deck without him seeing the lightning will hit one and hopefully it’ll be close enough to where he is. She can tell he’s drunk. He’s trying to look in the windows. He’s not paying attention behind him. She puts three metal rods, blocking each pathway off the deck. She runs back inside and closes the door. He hears it and turns around not seeing the metal rods as he standing on the deck the lightning strikes hit the ground. He walks over to the edge, doesn’t realize he’s standing on one of the rods All of a sudden… he lights up like the Fourth of July. He’s just standing there lit up, shaking, immensely as he’s getting fried by the lightning. She can’t take her eyes off of it. It’s mesmerizing for the next three minutes. He’s getting electrocuted. A sigh of relief comes over her as he falls to the ground. She checks her cell phone. She has one bar she quickly calls 911 tells the operator there’s a man on her deck and he’s acting erratic and she thinks he just got struck by lightning. The 911 operator ask for her address and tells her to stay inside. She’ll be dispatching police officers soon. What seems like an eternity of waiting for them to show up was really only a matter of 15 to 20 minutes. As the police arrive, they turn over the man. And they gasp. “ that’s Johnny Demarco. We’ve been looking for him for five years. He’s been wanted for three brutal murders of local women.” The police ask if she knew him she says no. They take her statement. She goes back inside. Her deck is covered with police officers and detectives. A few of them question her and take her statement after about 40 minutes. Everybody starts sleeping they take his body and the metal rods. This time he’s definitely dead. The police are happy. They cut the serial killer and she can finally rest easy.
