Every October, artists from around the world take part in Inktober—a challenge born from a simple but ambitious goal: to improve drawing skills and establish a regular creative habit. One drawing per day, a new prompt each time, ink on paper.
For many, it's a chance to push their boundaries. For others, it's a way to try something new.
And then there are those who take Inktober as a foundation for something bigger—for a story.
That's how this tale came to life.
Each drawing created for the challenge became a chapter in the story. At first, they were just standalone scenes, frozen moments in time. But with each passing day, the illustrations began to weave threads of a narrative. The characters found their voices, the settings turned into a living world, and the plot gained momentum of its own.
From what started as a collection of unrelated images, a story unfolded before my eyes—a tale of two wanderers lost among the ruins of a world that no longer belongs to humankind.
It’s a journey through wreckage, through grim discoveries, despair, and hope—because without hope, the journey would be impossible.
This is a narrative that emerged day by day, without a detailed plan, guided by the belief that I would find them a worthy ending.
And now, it's here before you, as a whole.
Slightly polished and expanded, accompanied by the illustrations that defined each day’s theme.
And I hope you’ll enjoy this journey as much as I did when I created it.
