“Why?” Aiden asks while I drag him along the beach, our hands intertwined, and a small part of me likes it. “Mia. Why are you forcing me to watch my brother fight?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Would you rather watch him fuck me?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Don’t!” He argues, and I can see wildfire in his eyes. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Why not?” I ask while a smile forms on my face. “I saw your video an hour ago. The one of you fucking some random blonde girl.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Angered amusement fills his face. “You told me to move on. I had to move on fast because I couldn’t stop thinking about you, Mia. I did exactly what you told me to do and fucked another person. And I got paid for it.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“You fucked another person, Aiden. And here I am, the crazy, unhinged, no-morals woman who hasn’t fucked anyone but you. Talk about ‘backward’.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He squeezes my hand tighter. “Yeah, and what are you trying to tell me? Do you want to fuck my brother?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“I don’t know what I want, Aiden. Maybe, I just want to keep fucking you when I know damn well I can fuck anyone I want.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“That sounds like a bad breakup, Mia. Maybe scale it down to having sex with me and see where it goes? I’d like that, and even though you’re denying and denying, I think secretly you want to be the same. You’re just too scared to admit it.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“No!” I argue as we reach the crowd of people, including my father and Becca. “I’m an open book. You know this. If I had any form of romance toward you, I’d be honest and say it. And then I’d leave. I’m not doing romance. No time soon, at least.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Hello!” My father smiles wide. “Look at you two being cozy toward each other.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Gag!” I joke and slap Aiden’s back. “We were just arguing about how I am not looking for any relationship. He thinks I like him. I don’t. And now you’re adding gasoline to that flame, father. Stop!”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I look at the small sand-filled arena. It’s just a few poles stuck into the ground and rope wrapped around, extending from one pole to the next. It’s brilliant to make it attractive, but it’s still apparent that two people are fighting in a sandbox.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“There is my brother,” Aiden says, holding his hand to clap Liam’s hand. “How much is this fight worth?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“If I win the entire fight?” Liam questions. “I’ll walk away with fifty thousand for this fight.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“You’re the butler.” My father says, interrupting the two of them. “Why are you a butler if you’re capable of doing things like this?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Liam glances at the ring. “Because. I needed the money last week. This is the first fight I’ve ever had that is paying so much money. And it’s if I win. If I don’t win, I don’t get a dime. So, the butler position is my safe place. This is my fun money if I win. If I don’t, I can at least say I tried.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;My dad wraps his giant hand around Liam’s shoulder. “That’s what I like to hear. A man who knows that trying is better than sitting around and waiting for nothing to come. Imagine doing so much simply by fighting.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“He’s a street racer too.” Becca blurts out, causing my father’s eyes to wave with excitement. “You fight and street race? You are a very risky person. And I like risky people. They usually end up on top…or buried. But they don’t let the thought of being buried scare them away from trying.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Thank you, sir.” Liam nods his head while beginning to step away. “I think I’m up. Wish me luck. Fifty thousand dollars is a good chunk of money.”My dad turns his head to me. “He has no idea how much we are worth, right?”	“No,” Becca answers for me. “He knows you’re rich. But he has no idea that fifty thousand is like ten dollars for you.”	I turn my attention to Aiden and his lowered head. He’s either angry or disappointed that my father bragged about Liam and hasn’t said much about him. And that’s on Aiden. He’s a big boy. He can take the heat from the real world.	“Aiden!” I say, grabbing my father’s attention. “Has saved me twice in my life. And without him, I could very well be dead.”	“You could be.” My father agrees and places his large hand on Aiden’s shoulder. “That is why I put him as my top man and gave him a healthy pay raise.”	I raise an eyebrow while looking at Aiden. “You did?” &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Aiden raises an eyebrow while confusion dances in his eyes. “You did?”	My father nods. “Aiden now has full control of my app. He is going to be in charge of my fourteen-man crew. He’s going to be with us more often. And since he saved your life, I’m bumping his salary from a hundred thousand to four hundred thousand. But he better prove me right.”	Becca scoffs in jealousy. “You’re paying him that much? How much do your other men make? And can I work with you?”	“Oh, darling.” My father smiles. “My other men aren’t like Aiden. They only make fifty thousand a year.”	“I’m sorry,” Becca says, interrupting him. “I’ve been a part of this family forever. How much is your net worth, Pablo? Because the last time I checked, you’re paying over a million a year just on your security and…whatever else they are.”	My father waves his hand, brushing off the idea of money. “I make a million dollars a day. That’s nothing. Sometimes, if business is excellent, I might make a million dollars in an hour. It depends.”	“And to think!” I say, wrapping my arms around my dad. “There was a point in his life where he had nothing. All it takes is hard work and determination. Maybe some grit.”	“Much grit.” My father adds. “And to know how to be resourceful. You have to be resourceful.”	“Fight!” Becca yells and points. “They’ve started. And Liam took the first swing. And he’s already kicking the shit out of that guy.”	I watch Liam as he ducks, jumps, swings, and laughs. I watch as the guy ducks, swings, and misses. The crowd roars as Liam swings again, hitting the guy in the face, and the guy falls to the ground. He quickly gets back up, jumping and promptly swinging at Liam. He misses, and Liam jumps back, preparing for his next swing.	“Damn!” Becca roars in excitement and yells as Liam swings again, hitting the man again. Liam is making this look easy and making the guy look like he has no idea what he is doing.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I look at Aiden. “How many fights has your brother been in?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Aiden shrugs, looking annoyed and I’m guessing he’s irritated because his brother is grabbing the attention of many people. He’s winning a fight. And he’s winning the hearts of every woman here—even mine. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I slide my hand into Aiden’s, intertwining our fingers, and this warm excitement bursts through me. Aiden looks down at our hands and cannot hold back his smile. I knew it. I knew I could get him to forget about his hot brother for a moment. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Damn!” Becca roars in excitement again. “His swings are fast and hard. That guy isn’t going to win this fight. Liam has this in the bag. He should win this with ease.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“He should.” My dad interjects. “But never celebrate too early. We do not know if this man has something up his sleeve or is holding back until Liam is tired. A tiger is lazy after it eats. That is when you attack it. Liam is feeding right now. If that man waits until Liam is done and decides to start fighting, he will win.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The other man swings and hits Liam in the face, causing the crowd to roar. I cover my mouth and gasp, watching Liam crumble like a tower. He struggles to get up and the ref begins to call it. One…&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Come on, Liam! Get up!”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Two…&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Becca wraps her arms around mine and leans her head into my shoulder, refusing to watch. My father’s eyes widen as we watch Liam slowly move, but still not get up. My heart is pounding out of my chest from the excitement and terror twisted together like DNA. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Three…&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Get up, Liam!” I scream, causing him to look in my direction. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Our eyes lock, and it looks like a fire ignites underneath him. He rolls over, pushes his hands into the sand, and pushes himself back up. The other fighter steps back with shock painting across his face. The ref looks confused, and the crowd is cheering.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Damn!” My father exclaims. “The way he wasn’t moving. And then he jumped up like it was nothing. You don’t see that too often in fights. It’s like something ignited inside of him.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It was me. But I can’t tell them that. His eyes locked onto mine, and his second chance started like a dead engine returning to life. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Liam swings, hitting the opponent’s ribcage. He swings again, hitting the opponent’s face. He swings again, hitting the upper arm. Another swing and the opponent falls to the ground, causing the crowd to cheer hysterically.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Aiden!” A woman’s voice calls out. “Hey!” &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I look over at a beautiful, busty blonde with long, flowing hair, deep brown eyes, and a pleasant, tanned body. She might be around four foot ten at most. And she has the cutest little ass if I’ve ever seen one. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Becca’s eyes widen. “Fuck!” &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Aiden releases his hand from mine, and I forget we are holding hands. He smiles. “Stacey. Hey!”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I tilt my head, trying to remember who this woman is because she looks very familiar. “Who the fuck is Stacey?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Becca flashes her eyebrows. “Is someone jealous?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“No!” I’m quick to argue. “I’m just curious.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Becca sighs with disappointment. “Did you watch the video? You said you did. Stacey is the girl in the video.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Aiden!” Stacey smiles and wraps her arms around him. “Did you see the views we are getting on that single video? It’s massive. Thanks to you and that thing you did to me…” She pauses and sighs with excitement. “We are going to make so much money.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“No.” He admits while trying to keep his focus on me. “I didn’t pay any attention. I usually get a lot of views—several hundreds of thousands. Once in a while, I’ll get a million. I rarely get two million, but it happens after a month or so. Why? What is it at?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She holds up her phone. “It’s reached a million overnight. How’s that for one video? Want to make another?”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Aiden runs his hand along the back of his neck and nervously chuckles. “I don’t know. I kind of…” &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Why not?” Becca is quick to interject. “You are not in a relationship. You’ve already slept with her once. Unless Mia has something to say.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I swallow the truth…And put on a fake smile. “You’re already fucking her, Aiden. You’re a big boy. And Becca is right. We aren’t in a relationship. We were just fucking each other. You can do whatever you want.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It’s up to him. I cannot be mad at him. But why am I hoping he says no to her? What the fuck is wrong with me? Why am I feeling the slightest jealousy and maybe even rage as I imagine what that video is like?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He softly nods his head. “When would you want to make another…”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Now!” She says with excitement radiating in her tone. “I’m free now if you want.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I push through the two of them. I’m going to the bathroom. Have fun. See you tomorrow.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Aiden wraps his hand around my wrist, stopping me. “Mia. Are you jealous? Because you said it yourself. You wanted me to do this. And I can stop. But it’s making me money. And…”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I peel his hand off my wrist. “Just stop, Aiden. We aren’t ‘anything’. You were holding my hand for no reason. You can do whatever you want.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I’m so fucking glad we aren’t anything more. He’s oblivious to whatever is between us; it’s nothing but feels like something. And for a man who wants me, he’s showing how quickly he’s capable of turning around and fucking another girl. But I did tell him to fuck someone else.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“Have fun,” I say in a bitchy tone. “I need to find a bathroom.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The crowd roars in excitement, and I look over at the ring, and it looks like Liam won. It’s hard to tell from where I am standing, but he has his arms up, which usually means a winner has been chosen. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;My eyes scan past the crowd, and I see Liam staring back at me. I look back at Aiden and his ‘fuck buddy’ walking away, and even though I want no fucking romance, I’m still boiling inside over imagining him fucking her…But that’s my problem and no one else’s.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I catch Liam watching Aiden and that girl leaving. He looks just as lost as I feel. And I need to find a bathroom before I lose myself completely. And I don’t even know why. I don’t want an Aiden! Maybe I’m just jealous because I want him to myself for sex, and that’s it. But either way, it’s eating at me.
