Fish n Chip Deliveries by iScoffBot

A while ago, around 2014, the media explained details of trials of remote deliveries of takeaways, fish and chips etc, where the cafes and restaurants of Greenwich in London, would pack the order in the top of a robotic delivery vehicle and program the GPS for the customers address. The six wheel mini vehicle would set off trundling the nearby streets.

But was iScoffBot (as I named it) capable of avoiding herds of feral and local cats who attracted by the delicious aromas might just try to hijack the snack? Or could a most intelligent cat purloin its people's smart phone and use the app to divert the delivery to a feline safe place?

Then in 2018 our Times of London reported pet dogs being scared by the mysterious mobile apparatus that issued tantalising whiffs of something tasty.

Imagine: Foxes, Dogs, being good diggers, prepare pitfalls and traps along pavements - in the night - they manoeuvre repair men signs and barriers in place to protect the hole but leave the lower rungs out so that iScoffBots come along and pass under thus tippling their loads into the hole!

Seemingly it would appear that iScoffBots are not provisioned with the same functionality as the moon rovers which can avoid craters!

On London Bridge’s refurbished station concourse there are robotic cleaning rovers, which I call iScrubBot, to help continually sweep rubbish and scrub the handsome paving.

ASTRO who along with ALEXA (from those rain-forest people) and found in certain of my adjoining stories, reminds the Pussycats how the future is panning out to his advantage.

In September 2023, news was seen that trials of iScoffBots in Sale, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, have been successful and the delivery radius is to be extended further into Trafford.

Story theme:

Bullpuss meets again with the Victoria Road cat friends - to discuss how Twitter has changed to X; how iScoffBots have arrived in Trafford etc; the demise of CatBook and other such important feline matters.

A lost iScoffBot turns up in Fallowfield, wrong postcode typed in; battery almost run down; latest versions have ASTRO/ALEXA apps to enable conversing with sentient beings - cats take advantage - find that a combination of Bullpuss brrrrps and Ruby mewps at exactly the same time cause the Bot to open its top to allow access to the goodies inside.
