Synopsis
This story takes place a time long ago .A couple by the name of Joe and Martha living in desolate shack. Just trying to get by.Living day by day A humdrum life. As Martha was outside tending the garden a blue bird sat next to her. The blue bird sang I am the blue bird of happiness . I've come to better your life from rags to riches. Martha could not believe what she was hearing. She yelled for Joe to come to the garden. When he got there he saw Martha's reaction to the bird. How can a bird change my life? Blue bird sang I will come every day with something for you, but you need to take care of me . The first day Blue bird brought Martha a bag of diamonds. The Blue bird brought gifts of gold and rubies by the end of the week they had enough to live the wealthiest life possible. Martha and Joe moved to a lavish country side . A stone cottage just large enough for them. They brought Blue bird with them in a cage.Why ,why am I caged Blue bird squawked ? I was meant to be free. Martha wanted to prevent Blue bird from giving others happiness and wealth She wanted it all for her and Joe. I cannot bring you happiness or wealth if I am caged . You must set me free. I will come back with treasures to please you. How will I know you will come back to me Bluebird? I am the Blue bird of happiness I am here to make you happy. Martha then opens the cage door, Blue bird flies out of the cage and escapes through the opened window. The Blue bird is not meant to be forced to be confined to a cage , is meant to be free, true happiness cannot be captured. Be grateful for what you have and do not be greedy as Martha was. You do not find true happiness by being self-centered. Blue bird did not come back to Martha and Joe. Their wealth did not last and they had a feelings of emptiness .Back to the humdrum life they once knew. Blue bird spread his happiness to others who deserved his kindness Wealth cannot bring happiness but only for a short while .Greed will lead to wanting more than you can handle and to end up losing everything as did Martha and Joe discovered. Spread your wings and fly little Blue bird.
