Back when I was in the beginning of middle school, my father, my brother, my mom and I used to watch a show called “WRESTLING FROM THE OLYMPIC, a show that features pro-wrestling at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA.

During that time the starts included Chavo Guerrero Sr, Raul Mata, Don Muraco, Black Gordman and Great Goliath, a very young Dino Bravo, and Ernie Ladd.

The first time we saw a live pro-wrestling event might've been in the mid 1970s at the old San Diego Coliseum in Downtown San Diego. We saw Chavo Guerrero in the main event, and some wrestlers like Bob Orton Sr, Mickey Doyle, and Rock Riddle.

A few years later we were able to afford cable television, which opened the door to watching the USA Network and the World Wrestling Federation. So on TV I used to watch Bruno Sammartino, Stan Hansen, Pat Patterson, Bob Backlund, Pedro Morales, and Tito Santana, just to name a few.

For a while we got to view from our cable TV set other territories such as World Class in Dallas with the Von Erichs, Southwest Championship Wrestling with guys like Tully Blanchard and Bob Sweetan, and the Florida area with Dusty Rhodes and Ole Anderson.

We also were able to watch Mid-South Wrestling with Cowboy Bill Watts, seeing wrestlers like Ted Dibiase, Terry Taylor, Buddy Landell, Jake Roberts, and the Junkyard Dog.

Later on we got exposed to the Memphis area, seeing guys like Superstar Bill Dundee, Terry Funk, Joe LeDuc, Stan Lane, Steve Kiern, and of course Jerry The King Lawler.

We would eventually see the AWA when ESPN picked it up. Thus we saw Verne Gagne and his song Greg, Curt Hennig, Larry Zbyszkco, the Road Warriors and Nick Bockwinkle.

Of course when TBS became available, we got to watch WCW, so Ric Flair, Magnum TA, Butch Reed, Arn Anderson, the Midnight Express and the Rock & Roll Express.

My dad still preferred the WWF, now WWE, especially during the times when there was Hulk Hogan, Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, Paul Orndorff, Bob Orton Jr, Superfly Jimmy Snuka and the Junkyard Dog.

The thing I noticed is that many of the wrestlers first started their careers in the National Football League, like Ernie Ladd, Jim Niedhart, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Leon White (Vader), and Bill Goldberg.

Anyway, I had this idea of having a guy being a former NFL player and WWE superstar become a secret agent. Thus I came up with the character Kendall Jacobson and the American Secret Intelligence Organzation (ASIO).
