It was just a dream but yet it felt so real. The voices, the words felt so god damn real. Like they were there in the room with me, like if I turned to my side I’d see them clear as day.

I thought about why I could feel these things so vividly, why I could hear the voices so clearly. And I realised something. It’s because they were here with me. No matter what I did they would always follow me. Day and night.

Their words cut deep into my soul etching a mark i’d never get rid of no matter how hard I tried. No matter what I did I’d never escape them. Their taunting looks, their shrill laughter of torture. Their cries of pain. Their looks of fear and abandonment. But there was nothing I could to save them, I couldn’t even save myself…

I tried so hard to hide away. Smile like nothing was eating me alive but yet so clearly I was dying inside, yet no one noticed. Except them.

I wondered why they were the only ones to notice my pain, my fear and then I realised they were me. They were the image I’d created in my fear and pain, but they weren’t just images they were real. They were my reflection. And my reflections were coming real and without anything to stop them they were overpowering me.

overpowering my smiles, my laughter, my joy. They were the pain, the cries, the fear Id shoved so deep inside me I never expected to rise up again, but day by day they’d made their way closer and closer to surface till there was nothing to show but them.
