The frozen lake cracked under his feet and just like that Jacob was shocked back to reality, why had his quiet and enjoyable get away become terrible. He carried on walking around the outskirt of the lake until he found solid ground under his feet.

On the other side of the lake Cindy was sitting on the chair outside her cabin wrapped in a blanket staring blankly out into the still water.

Cindy as well as Jacob were wondering whether their bloody and dark secret would ever be unearthed.

Jacob keeps walking shuffling his bag from one shoulder to the other not knowing whether it was the weight or the bloodied bat in it that's making it more uncomfortable and heavy.

Cindy watched the silhouette moving around the lake, then a loud gunshot echoed through the air and she let out a small scream, the silhouette stopped and then fell slowly to the floor.

Cindy looked at the horizon of the lake and tried to scan the woods for movement, in a panic she jumped up and ran towards the lake shore, there was no movement or sound just the breeze through the trees.

Jacobs ears were ringing and as he came round he felt a sharp pain in his left knee, he looked for the bag and realised it was missing, thoughts then flooded his mind what if the shooter knew what he'd done? Was the bag now heading to the police? He slowly got up and screamed out in pain,Slowly he managed to steady himself and carry on round the lake to Cindy's cabin.
