3 a.m.

It was a warm Summer evening. So we decided to pull out the futon in his mancave to watch a baseball game.

He fell asleep at approximately 9:30 as I stay up til One in the morning . turned the TV off and drifted off to sleep.

Suddenly or it felt suddenly I was awoken to Moe climbing on me at Three A.M.

I immediately started to talk to him quickly noticing his speech wasn't right. I turned him onto the bed and asked him "Babe can you lift your arms". He could only lift his left arm.

I was so scared but his survival was in NY gands. I immediately called 911 kept reminding on the line as I ran frantically around our home to gather any information that they may need.

He spent 6 months in the hospital. I cared for his every need. I retired from The School Board immediately. I bathed him, learned to use the lift to get him out of bed. You see at first he could only blink one blink for yes and two for no.

To say the least it was challenging but his determination and drive, not to mention he used to call me his drill Sargeant . I worked his speech therapy daily. His physio we still do to this day.

We just Celebrated 9 years together his stroke was 8 years ago.

We have never been together sexually. But I've learned so much about true unconditional love . That the rest really doesn't matter.

Our life changed in that instant but our hearts grow fonder by the day.
