It's the first day of my senior year. It doesn't matter to me that everyone else has already found their mates. I feel like my best friend Jax is mine. Today is the day my wolf will share with me who mine is.

I arrive at school 10 minutes early. A few kids nearby are giggling and looking at me as I passed them by.

The noises in the hall were a little extra for me today. Slamming of the lockers, yelling of kids, deep conversations between groups of friends, bullies pushing kids around, a silent sobs from the ladies room nearby. I try to block out the sounds and focus on what this day is to bring. Lost deep in thought as I get shoved hard from behind. Falling to the floor I look up to see, no other than Evan. Evan is a senior like me but this is his second time. He has been my bully since the sixth grade. We use to be good friends until I moved from Brooklyn. When I moved back he had the biggest grudge. Since then I could never get a break from him. "Watch out loser!" He yells at me glancing a deep angry stare. Something was different with this interaction today i just couldn't tell what it was. I got to hoping to get away from this crowded hallway. That's when the smell of sandalwood filled my nostrils. The scent was so intoxicating that my wolf even started to pant and whimper inside.
