Oooooof it took a long time to write. Honestly, I'll accept it when the writing process will yield something good, so as long as it's something I'm satisfied with, it doesn't bother me too much.
I tried my best to tackle the themes as best as I can, and the painting I use in the book cover "I lock my door upon myself" is perfect for this. It started off as a "The Raven" (Edgar Allen Poe) retelling but it COMPLETELY changed direction and based it off of that Belgian painting and Christina Rosetti's poem.
So ultimately it's a blend of having to deal with the fleeting nature of memories, no matter how sweet they are, and how a person who is sensitive to such things can cope with an ever-haunting grief that absorbs the very vitality she wants to nourish herself with.
So cheerful so happy yaaay
